Resident evil soundtrack.......2006-05-04
I bought this soundtrack a little while ago. Even though some of the songs were very good especially the main resident evil theme, i was disappointed that they didnt include the other tracks that marilyn manson composed for the film such as the beginning where Alice wakes up and explores the mansion and when the team entered the hive also other parts where they are walking through it.
It would have been so much better if they included those tracks as it gives the listener of the feel of the moment. If anyone knows where i can get a hold of an original Marilyn Manson/resident evil score with these removed tracks (if it was ever made) please email me. the_don_tony@hotmail.com
Any help would be appreciated.

Marilyn outdoes himself..........2006-02-03
This soundtrack as a whole is decent, but like the title of my review states, the real star is Manson who really outdoes himself with some brilliant scoreing.
1. My Plague (New Abuse Mix) - Slipknot
The original is mych better...the useless pointless editing of this album is annoying and the fact that they actually mellow it down by taking out the screaming is also annoying...
2. The Fight Song (Slipknot Remix) - Marilyn Manson
This is better now...great remix that surpasses the original. One check for Manson.
3. Something Told Me - Coal Chamber
Not the greatest choice for Coal Chamber here...they have done much better songs and could have supplied a better track. But alas. It's not awful just not what I would have expected. Also, since I was anticipating their 'Dark days' album at the time this was released I was dissapointed that I was waiting for this...
4. Everyone - Adema
I have to admit I was a fan of Adema when their first CD was released and really liked this song. It's a got addition to the soundtrack and shows the upside to Adema before they became...oh how can I put it...CRAP.
5. Invisible Wounds (The Suture Mix) - Fear Factory
I'm not a big Fear Factory fan, BUT, even before this Soundtrack was released I had heard the original version of this song and I really liked it so this was a welcome track for me so I didnt have to buy the whole Fear Factory album...
6. Anything But This - Static-X
One of my favorite Static-X songs ever...this is brutal and just insane...awsome...Waynes screams a just primal...This is the highlght of the CD!
7. Name Of The Game - The Cyrstal Method
Does not fit...why this is here I don't know but it is way to poppy and upbeat for a zombie flick...it just does not go at all...
8. Dig (Everything And Nothing Remix) - Mudvayne
I like this remix...it's really cool and adds alot to the album and the song as a whole. I loved Dig when it first came out and although Mudvayne milked it with all the remixes, each remix is quality and thats what matters.
9. Hallelujah - Rammstein
Great song...eerie and brutal. Rammstein can't turn out a band track, can they?
10. Dirt - Depeche Mode
My best friend is a huge Depeche Mode fan and was happy to see this track included. I like it, it's decent but not brilliant...don't worry, we;re getting to the brillance.
11. Release Yo' Self (Prodigy Mix) - Method Man
Surpisingly this works...I love Method Man but the thought of him on a Resident Evil soundtrack doesn't sound right, but it works so I guess it's okay. Nice remix...to bad it's edited.
12. What Comes Around (Day Of The Dead Mix) - Ill Nino
One of the best remixes ever. I love this remix and its probably my favorite track on the CD. It's just explosive while still carrying Ill Nino's signature melodicy. Awsome from start to finish!
13. 800 - Saliva
This is actully really good and I did not expect that since I am not a fan of the band. A lot more brutal than I expected. Decent choice...I'm not mad.
14. The Infinity - Five Pointe O
Awsome...hands down one of the most unique bands ever..to bad they split. Pick up their album 'Untitled' ASAP and relish in the bueaty that is Five Pointe O!
And the reason this album is a 5 star...
15. Resident Evil Main Title Theme (Score) - Marilyn Manson
16. Seizure Of Power (Score) - Marilyn Manson
17. Reunion (Score) - Marilyn Manson
18. Cleansing (Score) - Marilyn Manson
Manson does a brillant job of bringing an ounce of fear inot this album giving the real meaning and vibe of the game to life with an amazing score that is notches about the track list of this album. I bought it for the amazing bands listed on the back, but with ost of them serving up mediocre tracks...and the really good ones getting edited...I keep this album for the brilliant score by MR. MANSON!
Resident Evil Put Onto CD With A Few Twists.......2006-01-22
Im not to big on Resident Evil ,but the theme song to the movie was so haunting and original i had to purchase this album.Manson scored these songs to perfection (or atleast the theme to the movie)Many of the songs listed amongst the back of the case do not play at all during the duration of the Resident Evil film ,but they were 'Inspired' by the film to make these tracks.
With that said they still manage to fall in place with the movie and seem to go along all together as a sludgy mettalic compilation. You get Slipknot,Marilyn Manson,Rammstein,Depeche Mode,Mudvayne, and some upcomming metal maniacs.
There is even some dialogue from the film(Red Queen and Umbrella Corporation). When summed up only 6 tracks from the movie play a role in the album, wich isn't very generous considering that 2 aren't even song! But for the songs that were scored from the movie they were well done and contain a very crisp heavy sound. Many may pick up on the fact that theres editing o nthe tracks. Why is there any form of editing on a rated R movie? I have no clue and neither do the many owners of this shrieking album.
Resident Evil Fan or not this is a great album with a mixture of some of todays best metal bands.
Would have been worth while if they had used only original music, but sadly..........2005-09-18
I LOVED the main resident evil theme. That track alone earned the disk it's two stars. The very few other tracks that are actually the score from the film were also quite good. Unfortunately, most of the CD is dedicated to "hey-lets-throw-some-metal-junk-to-cash-in-on-the-under-20-crowd!" stuff. Most of it was neither featured in the movie, nor has ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE MOVIE. Shame.
Download the main theme, don't bother with the CD.
Not really what I wanted.......2005-09-12
I was disappointed because when I first picked up the soundtrack, I thought it would include all the music in the film. The only reason I cared about the music in the film was that all the original score was composed by Kevin Manthei, my favorite modern music composer. He worked on several video game scores, as well as the award-winning soundtrack to the canceled cartoon "Invader Zim." None of his work in the film is on this, just a collection of artists I don't really care about. If there were an alternate soundtrack with Manthei's music on it, I'd buy it up in a flash, but since this was the only one it was a serious letdown.
