Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Page & Plant - Classics!.......2007-03-13

I recently purchased 'Unledded' as well as the London Symphonic Orchestra's 'Kashmir' - no collection would be complete with out these Classics!

5 out of 5 stars Journey on the Orient Express.......2007-02-14

Led Zeppelin always loved to experiment with Oriental motifs and now here is Page and Plant with an Egyptian Ensemble, Musicians in Marrakech and the London Metropolitan Orchestra. While the music may seem over-orchestrated at times, it is rich in musical themes, foreign and familiar, building on their classic numbers to a stunning climax on Kashmir. Najima Akhtar hits the high notes Robert Plant no longer can, lending a more lilting feel to The Battle of Evermore, but Plant doesn't disappoint, nor for that matter does Page on this wonderful album. My only question is why John Paul Jones wasn't invited in on this set?

5 out of 5 stars So Good I forgot it was live.......2007-02-01

How good is this album? I didn't know it was live for 12 years. Byte O' history: I saw Zepp for the first time from front row seats December 30, 1968, when they were an un-advertised opening act. Perhaps their 3rd or 4th ever performance in the USA.

In 1995, I caught the Page & Plant tour twice through a happy accident of travel. Stunning performances. I bought the CD and the DVD and listened often.

Back to the opening point. Page & Plant and the band and the orchestra were ON, in both of the 1995 performances I saw, and clearly very much so in the live performance that begat this CD. So much so, that it sounded and felt like a studio production. Today, when looking up something on Wikipedia, I saw the word "LIVE" as adjective to this CD. Naw... so I listened again and... woah. There IS applause in there. It's that good. Ten stars.

5 out of 5 stars EXTRAORDINARILY RICH, Massive Range, OUTSTANDING! 10 Stars!.......2006-12-14

I listen to this CD in my car, and I own the DVD. The music on this CD is OUTSTANDING - if you like classic rock, mixed with a rich diverse range of musical elements, an incredible orchestra, combined with Jimmy Page's pinnacle talent, and Robert Plant's one-of-a-kind voice.

This CD is *not* the Led Zeppelin of the past, it's a rare blend of music, specifically delivering Middle Eastern mystique intricately interwoven with "KASHMIR" bringing an OUTSTANDING musical experience.

That's what this CD is - an experience, and one that I TREASURE! 10 Stars!

PS: The sound quality is EXCEPTIONAL

5 out of 5 stars Eternal Music for the Soul.......2006-11-01

I am not a rock musicologist, but in my humble opinion this album speaks to one's soul. Plant's voice and Page's guitar are amazing, as always. I only wish that they had continued to do more work together. I don't think I'll ever tire of this album!
