Customer Reviews:
Firehouse.......2006-11-23
I just have to start out saying this is one of the best bands ever [right next to Dokken and Queensryche]. Every single song on here is an awesome song and there is absolutly no fillers which totlly blows my mind!! This has to be the best album of the 90's, I mean really its great. It is great metal and desearves your attention. Some of the songs that I especially like are 'all she wrote', 'outta be a law', and 'shake and tumble', but seriosly every single song is great. I highly recommend this album if your looking for some rock that you can bang your head to.
The ultimate drivin companion!.......2006-04-30
If you want your socks rocked off, this is the disc for you!
Awesome Hard rock/AOR/hair metal that gets ya singin along with a vengence. Sounds best in the car though when you can really bust it loose :)
These guys can really perform. Don't make the mistake of buying the greatest hits CD because all the songs on 'Firehouse' and 'Hold your fire' are the greatest hits. After the latter, things fall apart drastically for this band.
Not just another "hair" band............2006-04-19
To lump Firehouse into the category of "hair band" might be easy, but to do so, would be a huge disservice to what may very well be one of the truely talented and dedicated bands. Committed to filling each song with note-worthy vocals and harmonies, amazing guitar licks, thundering bass lines and powerful drums, Firehouse's first CD is a genuine, strong and impressive debut. And they deliver on all acounts. Bill Leverty is a hugely underrated guitarist that allows his fingers to fly up and down the neck, and song after song perfectly compliment the style of what is Firehouse.
1990's Firehouse opens with "Rock on the Radio," which has the boys shout out their anthem to metal radio. With an impressive drum line by Michael Foster, he quickly shows us that he is talented enough to bang on the skins, without taking over the song completely. Track 2, "All She Wrote," to this day, can be heard on classic rock radio. Vocalist/Keyboardist, CJ Snare takes control of the vocals, but yet, annunciates each word well, and is a fine vocalist in his own right. Track 3, "Shake and Tumble," the first single of this CD, got a much deserved rotation on the radio stations of America and beyond. Again, Bill Leverty guitar drives the rhthym of the song forward with heavy chords, and adept fills. The use of the cowbell on "Shake and Tumble," is used in its best form, giving the song a driving beat and even now while listening to this song, I find my head banging in time to the bass drum. An acoustic guitar opens, "Don't Treat me Bad," and harmonic vocals by the boys, but quickly hard rock guitars take over. In exact pitch are excellently laid down background vocals. Using the trick of "tuning down the strings," starts the wind up of "There Outta be a Law." Excellent, excellent track. Track 7, allows CJ to shine with his keyboard talents, and an intro with an Ovation Acoustic gets "Home is where the Heart Is" pumping, when suddenly the speakers are filled with vocals that soar and a bass guitar that thunders.
Best known for track 11, "Love of a Lifetime," which in its own right, is a solid ballad. Firehouse's debut CD delivers on its own merit. This is a CD to be listened to again and again, and each time you do so, you will hear a guitarist that never got recoginized for the immensly talented axeman that he is, (listen to track 9, "Seasons of Change," and then tell me that Bill Leverty doesn't on ALL counts deserve a rightful place as one of the gifted guitarists in rock music.) In addition you will hear a fine vocalist who has great pitch, and the back bass line by Perry Richardson and Mike Foster, who keep the songs rocking hard.
Firehouse still is on tour, Releasing songs, and rocking the arenas and nightclubs of America. An impressive debut by a band that derserves its place in hard rock radio.
It blew me away!.......2006-03-02
I love Firehouse. One of the best hair metal artists ever. Their sound is so unique. So easy on the ears, yet so heavy on the heart. I'm telling ya, it's a great album. I've listened to Don't Treat Me Bad over 300 times. I am stuck on Firehouse.
I love hair metal. I'll never stop listening to it. It will have a place in my heart forever *everyone awwwwww*. Right.
These are the bands that I never stop listening to:
Boston
Quiet Riot
Poison
Firehouse
Get the debut, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. It even put a smile on my mom's face... and she's 56..... So go for it. Don't be afraid to try something new.
FIREHOUSE FOREVER.
Firehouse's self-titled debut is a great metal album.......2006-01-13
Firehouse made it big on the Billboard 100 singles with the Top five single "Love of a lifetime" which is perhaps one of the best love songs in the 90s. "Don't Treat Me bad", "All she Wrote" and "Overnight Sensation" are awesome!! This band continued it's success with Hold Your Fire and 3. Firehouse's self-titled debut album after sixteen years still sounds good and this is a must-have for any metal fan. This album is great!!
