Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars This is my favorite Stacy Album.......2002-12-18

The man is a genius. He's even better live! But either way, through cd or in person, his musical gift is sure to entrance and astound.

5 out of 5 stars turn the dobro up PLEASE!.......2000-11-22

this is an excellent cd, and highly recommended. why should you buy it? well, because thereýs actual MUSIC on it, made my REAL HUMANS, unlike a lot of the ýmusicý that is out there today. there are no fancy dance steps, pelvic gyrations or other innane gimmicks to distract.........just GREAT musicians making GREAT music. stacy phillips literally ýwrote the booký on resonator guitar, or Dobroý, and on this CD you can hear why. for those of you who have never heard one, a ýdobroý is an acoustic guitar, which has a metal speaker cone in it, and is usually played flat on the lap and fretted with a metal bar. mr. phillips is literally one of THE greatest players ever to touch this instrument, and his virtuosity shines through on all fourteen of the tracks on this CD.........musically, there are lots of ýgenresý covered (what a horrible word), including, bluegrass, swing, jazz, country, hawaiian, klezmer, blues, african, and a whole lot of ýnone of the aboveý which is part of what makes stacyýs playing so wonderfully unique and undefinable. a must have for dobro players, and fans of good music everywhere..... stacy also plays a mean, fiddle, but thatýs for another review...... ---------------------- lloyd thayerl@bc.edu
