Imaginative Guitar.......2000-03-25

I like that Dan writes a little bit about each song on the cd in the liner notes. So we have his description and then you can use your imagination to come up with your own picture. This music lets loose my mind to wander wherever it wants to go. It makes me think of the countryside.

I've seen Dan play live a bunch and this solo cd, MELODIES/IMPROVISATIONS really captures how he does it. Being a musician myself, I really like to listen closely to how Dan structures his pieces. The improvisational twists and turns and developments are always exciting and intriguing. There is 70+ minutes of music on this too - although I've seen him do his instrumental stuff for 3 hours straight(no breaks)at a nightclub before - the guy just loves to play! He teaches guitar in El Paso and when he's not teaching he's practicing or writing new tunes or out performing. The guy is amazing! Just to watch his fingers and how he caresses the guitar neck is an experience. I can't wait for the video.
