openly queer, beautiful vocal music.......2006-10-01

Jon "Mary" Arterton (of "Flirtations" fame), Mary Jo Paranzino and Mary Abt (of "Destiny") combine their joy-filled magnificent voices to share, with the world, what has been a regular treat for locals in Provincetown, Cape Cod, Ma. USA. Stunning a capella plus piano which moves, rouses and celebrates.

Since all three band members are happily openly same sex attracted (Mary Jo and Mary being long term life partners) there's an expected and significantly rewarding element of queer political commentary (especially in the firm demand for respect in "Homophobic Blues") but there are also high broad moral values expressed in most other tracks such as "Feelin' Good". We're even given a vocal appreciation of the joy of living "In Provincetown" which makes you want to move there.

Listeners hearing this quality of teamworked musicianship can't fail to be inspired to find and express their own voices - which is exactly what would make each of these Three Marys very happy.
