I've played this CD for several friends, and they all ask, "Is it pop? Is it folk? What is it?" It's great. Evan Brubaker writes with a sense of humor and a tremedndous ear for sonority. His guitar-playing, reminiscent of both Ani Difranco and Michael Hedges, is virtuosic. His lyrics are both witty and acerbic. If you like songs that say something and sound great saying it, this one's for you. And Evan Brubaker is not only a wonderful guitarist, singer, and songwriter, he is a fantastic producer. What are you waiting for?

This is kind of like Ani Difranco crossed with David Wilcox. Songs about life being a TV sitcom (23 Minutes) and a girl who actually likes James Bond (She Likes James Bond) are funny and thought provoking. Check out the extra "hidden" track at the end of the disc, its excellent. Seriously this is definitely worth having! Check Evan out at the 1999 Kerrville folk festival.
