Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A must have cd.......2006-01-16

This first cd by the Deighton Family is some of the most original, unique musical efforts you will ever hear. The musical energy and originality of their music is infectious and enduring. Be prepared to be embarrassed, astounded, even shocked if you haven't heard this group before. But once you've tossed your musical prejudices aside and allow yourself to be swept up by a weird but wonderful blend of rock, celtic, folk and Indo sounds, you'll learn to treasure this cd. Fantastic rendition of Travelin' Light. Expand your musical horizons and love it!

4 out of 5 stars Just How Do You Categorize This One?.......2001-07-25

This is one of the srangest, yet most delightful, CDs I've ever heard. Dad is steeped in Celtic folk, Mom has a background in Southeast Asian music, a couple of the kids want to rock, and the whole band seems to have a preference for hokey old American C&W and rockabilly material. But somehow the combination of accordian, wooden flutes, electric guitar, mandolin and who-knows-what-else actually works. You'll find yourself baffled, entranced, and listening over and over.
