4 out of 5 stars Frost is a breath of fresh clean air.......2003-11-05

Donna Frosts Feels Like Home feels like coming home from a hard days work with fresh bread baking in the oven and childrens voices in the air. The album has the feel and texture of early 70's pop-rock at its best. For all the world it reminds me of Elton Johns Tumbleweed Connection and Dave Masons Alone Together. The singing and song-writing have a power, comfort, and maturity of an artist hitting her stride.Kudos to Jack Howell the guitars and production have grace, power, beauty and logic that is not often heard these days. All in all it's a nice treat and a job well done.

4 out of 5 stars Crosses Boundaries of Country and Contemporary.......2002-06-07

Frost has found her voice on her second release, the followup to Pure and Simple which yielded a #1 country single in England, and the Nashvillian has hit the European indie country charts from this album. Her pleasant voice complements the more broadened musical palette used here, and Frost sounds confident with this mix of catchy grooves and from-the-heart lyrics. Frost and producer Jack Howell co-wrote all songs except Paul McCartney's "Every Night." The title track hits a nerve with musicians (or anyone) who love being on the road. "What If" has a captivating melodicism and drama about it, and "Gettin' Younger" takes an interesting, multifaceted look at aging. Another highlight is the jangle and drive of "Piece of Heaven." All the way through, Donna Frost imbues the music with a sureness and geniality that wins the listener over, and Feels Like Home will feel comfortable across many styles of listeners.

5 out of 5 stars A WONDERFUL CD!.......2001-10-08

On "Feels Like Home", Donna Frost has combined Americana, pop, country, and folk music and expertly blended these styles together with 10 wonderful new recordings. Not content to stick with straight country music, Donna has expanded, matured, and grown artistically from her previous release "Pure And Simple". This CD is really a collaboration with Donna Frost and producer Jack Howell, who co-wrote 9 of the CD's 10 songs with Donna. (The one other recording is an impressive cover of Sir Paul McCartney's "Every Night"). You'll go crazy over Donna's sweet and powerful vocals, and you'll love the predominantly acoustic emotionally-charged music that mixes well with lyrics that are truly from the heart. One listen to this CD, and you too will say this music "Feels Like Home".
