3 out of 5 stars Still a better effort than their first release.......2002-06-29

For those people who, like me, grew up listening to the radio in the early 70's; The Sutherland Brother's and Quiver had one killer song that seperated them from all the rest. (I don't want to love you but) You got me anyway, is always going to be the type of song that will define the great sound that was unique to SB&Q. Sadly though, this reissue being an Import does'nt contain that song! While it is certainly a huge step compaired to their first release; the US version contained the hit that this import does'nt list.Great songs like "Real Love", "Lady Like You", "Where Do We Go Wrong", and "Sailing" still make this CD a Keeper. But do yourself a favor; get "Dream Kid", "Beat Of The Streat", "Slipstream" and all of the other SB&Q releases. And if you're lucky enough to hear(I Don't Want To Love You But) You got Me Anyway; you"ll experience what made 70's music like this so magical!

2 out of 5 stars Available again, thank goodness!!!.......1999-03-03

An excellent re-release... I'm a collector of this band and have long awaited availability of their albums. There are 2 versions of the album, and this CD duplicates the import version, which is the original, released at the time the Brothers were in the process of joining with Quiver. The US release included some of the joint group's first recordings, and they are (sadly) omitted here. I had hoped the release would combine the songs from both versions, but I am still pleased to see it in print again.

3 out of 5 stars Missing the best song on the US release.......1998-09-10

This will probably teach me not to buy import versions of albums, especially when there is no track listing for reference. In rebuilding a music collection from vinyl to CD, this recording was considered important. I was disapointed that the best song (in my opinion) on what was apparently the US release of Lifeboat, Have You Had A Vision, was not included on this import version. Yes, it is a fine effort otherwise, vintage early 70's sound. Very preachy in places, still caught up in the summer of love hangover, medium tempo in most songs, ponderous in places. I still think that Vision was the best rocker on the album, sadly missing from this import. And what happened to Quiver? There is no mention of the band that got pretty much equal billing on the US record, even if it doesn't change their contribution to this music.
