Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Two for the Early Dew - Tommy Makem and Lian Clancy.......2007-02-02

This is a good album and should be added to your collection (my favorite cut was about the swans)

4 out of 5 stars Often overlooked gem for Irish and/or Clancy-Makem fans.......2000-08-02

If you're a fan of the Clancy Brothers and/or Tommy Makem, or if you enjoy Celtic folk performed with masterful sensitivity, then this CD should grace your collection. In my opinion, this album is one of the pair's best (along with "Makem and Clancy Concert"). The haunting beauty of songs like "Clear Away in the Morning" and "Dawning of the Day", with fine singing and sweet playing, are worth the price of admission alone. There is not actually a clinker on the album, and careful listening proves the old notion that the Irish have a magic way with words and music. In many ways, this CD is a balm for the aches and pains of our hurried way modern of living. Just put this disc on after a hard day and see what I mean...it will take you back to simpler days.
