3 out of 5 stars Alright.......2004-11-23

Its funny how Doria thinks anything that doesn't agree is a "prank of a review." She's got a big chip on her shoulder.

This album is decent...it has some excellent tracks on it, and some that you skip over in the CD player. I would recommend it, but I wouldn't sell my soul to get it.

5 out of 5 stars Fabulous, simple Fabulous.......2004-09-06

I got ahead of this album several years ago when it was Doria's first. I fell in love with her after hearing the song 5am. She is amazing. A truly unique individual with her spiritually awaking lyrics and melodies. I can honestly say I feel she is NOTHING like Ani. I personally can't stand Ani, but Doria, she's got it all. If you haven't picked up this album yet then you're missing something really special. No one should enter into the world without hearing Doria's rich voice and heartfelt messages. It'll make you see a whole new side to the world.

5 out of 5 stars A Must Buy.......2002-09-14

I love this cd. Doria's music is so refreshing in a time where music is so comercialized and is based on artists' (if you can even call them that) looks as opposed to the actual musical content. I love the fact that she writes her own music, this to me shows how truly talented she is. My favorites on this cd are Dying Mans Wish, Thinking of You, Perfect, and Restoration. I listen to this cd every day.

3 out of 5 stars Up & Coming.......2001-05-04

Let me step in here and say, I got this record after hearing it played on the PA at a concert. I really like it and listen to it all the time. However, she DOES sound like Ani, and is more than just "reminiscent" of difranco, and that does diminish it's value. Basically you are treading in no new ground, but you will still enjoy it and not regret spending the $$ for it. I have it in my player and it hasn't left, so that should tell you something. ... ..

5 out of 5 stars A real review..........2001-04-14

I just had to step in and create a little balance with the insensitive and obvious "prank of a review" someone decided to post about Doria's music. She DOES have a sound of her own and while SOME songs might be reminiscent of Ani DiFranco they certainly are NOT a "rip off". Listen to "Perfect" once and I guarantee you won't be able to turn it off (nor will you be thinking about Ani DiFranco). What she IS: Wonderfully gifted, sensitive, and insightful in her lyrics and delivery, which always leaves me feeling more than I thought I could ever feel. She's a hard working independent artist and deserves to be heard. She's worth the listen, folks. Plain and simple. What she ISN'T: Some cookie cutter sell out and she certainly is not an artist that preaches one thing and practices another...

I'm glad this music is in my life. You will be too...
