Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Ed Natay is truly the best Native American singer.......2004-12-01

My grandma told me that Navajo songs from long ago had no words, that they were chanting songs that the men would sing gathering wood or riding their horses. Only songs sung by Ed Natay retain these classic chants sung from that time period. Being Navajo myself and haven't had the opportunity to hear Navajo songs sung in that time frame, I'm glad that Ed Natay's singing style was recorded for all of us to remember. Considering this album was recorded back in the 40's, the sound quality of the album alone is awesome!

5 out of 5 stars What a beautiful voice!.......2001-08-02

If you've never heard Ed Lee Natay's voice, you're missing out. His voice is smooth and deep and clear... Hard to describe, but absolutely beautiful. Especially fond of the Zuni Sunrise Song. This album is very historically significant, as Mr. Natay was one of the very first, if not THE first native american to ever be recorded singing. Don't miss out.
