Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Almost perfect.......2005-06-08

What a fantastic blend of folk, celtic and rock. GREAT voices and violin.

Anyone know what has happened to this group? I heard this CD being played in a Barnes and Noble bookstore and then went to buy it. I have never done anything like that before. Later I bought the Lucky Few which is a 5 star recording as well.

Where has this group gone ?

Jon

5 out of 5 stars You can't get better than this.......2003-11-28

I have seen Equation in my home town live, and they were amazing, I bought both CDs hazy daze and the lucky few,I leant the CDs to a friend and never got them back and have been waiting to buy them again for so long. If you love folk music get their CDs, they're all amazing musicians, playing drums guitar and violin if I remember rightly, and they are a band that is as good live as on CD!. Each song is individual but all to the same style, so if you like the sound clips buy the CDs. Their catchy lyrics and easy to listen to, individual voice of the female singer will grab you, then you won't want to let them go!!!

5 out of 5 stars Fabulous Album.......2003-02-24

Super album - every song on it is a winner.

5 out of 5 stars Good stuff Maynard!.......2003-02-19

Top to bottom a good cd, with no stinkers, but not a breakout hit either. To me they sound like early Cranberries, only more polished with better musicianship and songs. Or a celtic version of Sixpence None the Richer. Love the music. I would also recommend Kate Rusby and the Poozies, and a band somewhere between folk and pop Grey Eye Glances.

5 out of 5 stars Sublime!.......2002-07-27

Just last Saturday I was perusing the racks at the local [bookstore] and I randomly picked out some albums to check out -- "Hazy Daze" among them.

I was only able ot hear about 30 seconds from each cut, but something about the album seemed to reach out to me.
It sounded familiar, yet not. After buying and spending the rest of the day with it I was convinced I did not spend my [money]foolishly. Now, 5 days later, the songs have had time to seep into my Soul and I can without reservation say that this is one of the finest albums I own!

There is not one bad cut on this CD! How often can you say that?
Not one. Each is a unique piece of folk/alt/rock that seems timeless, like written in another space altogether. The arrangements are inventive, acoustic, never bland. The vocals are extraordinary, weaving, teasing, tempting, like ready to reveal a secret treasure at any minute.

I was so enthralled with this album that I rushed out to get "The Lucky Few." This album is more electric, but I can already feel it growing on me as well. "Hazy Daze" is one album
that I would instantly put on my top albums of all time. It's that good! Enjoy!
