Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Heartfelt sad songs.......2005-08-03

I was quite impressed by the man's terrific tenor voice. I bought the album for the songs, never having heard him sing. What a nice surprise!
The only down point was that, as a folk music lover,I thought the album was overproduced. However,I will buy more...

5 out of 5 stars Anzac Day.......2005-04-23

I heard "And they played Waltzing Matilda" on CBC for Anzac Day. I almost had to park for the weeping. This song has implications for the fighting in Iraq.

3 out of 5 stars Oh well.......2003-05-19

Bogle has written great songs on occasion. I heard him first interpreted through the lovely June Tabor. But alas, Bogle's singing and some of his songwriting suffer from an amount of sentimentality.

5 out of 5 stars Must have album.......2000-12-23

I started listening to this album about 15 years ago and still appreciate every cut on it. I identify with Eric Bogel and appreciate his talent both as a writer and a singer. Starting with Scraps of Paper and on through the rest of the album, there is not a bad cut.

5 out of 5 stars extremely moving and well presented, a quality album for all.......1999-07-16

I had the pleasure to hear eric live @ a festival in Dunedin, NZ 15+ yrs ago. After which I purchased this album on tape and it still brings me pleasure to this day, particularly last track side 2. I have passed this to other people of all ages recently and they have all enjoyed listening to Eric and his music. I would totally recommend to all this album.
