Disappointed.......2006-06-12

I hate to be a hater, but... I have to share my true feelings about this CD. I bought this CD a few years back because I was a huge fan of the Cover Girls, but always thought that Angel's voice was always too weak. I gave it a chance and after a few listens I gave it away to someone else. Her voice is still nasily, production sounds cheap and most importantly having the audacity to remake Show Me.... please! Toro Mata was the only stand out track on this CD, everything else was just trash. When Angel left the Cover Girls back in 1991, someone with a STRONG voice came in... Michelle Valentine. Unfortunately, she (or Evelyn Escalera) never got the attention they deserved, their voices blew Angel's out the water. I saw the Cover Girls perform twice in my life, once as Angel in the lead (w/Margo and Caroline as backup) and the other time with Caroline, Michelle and Evelyn. The first time around I hated the way Angel was the Diana Ross of the group, but the second time around, not only were the 3 girls more into it, all three of the girls gave a great performance, driving people to tears with "Wishing on A Star." I would hate to see SAL perform... I know Lisette Melendez has a stronger voice!

Good freestyle!.......2005-06-04

You hear right away this is the voice of the Cover Girls and it's always good to recognize a voice straight away. A big plus for Angel. Angel gives us a steady freestyle album that'll make any freestyle fan happy. Nowadays she sings with SAL (Lil Suzy and Lisette Melendez) and is touring. Check her out :)

Former lead cover girls singer hit's dancefloor gold!!!.......2000-09-15

Ok..I love dance music any and all who have read any of my reviews know I collect all kinds..I had no clue that this former cover girls lead singer had an album..I had picked up the single of toro mata many months back..I always liked the latin flavor of that single. Well I was shopping for music and walla the album cover got my attention..I grabbed it quick and was very happy..The opening track is a remixed version of show me the cover girls first hit single and angel is right at home with this one..it's already tearing up clubs here in the midwest..I got nervous you know when you havn't heard any other songs off a cd..well track two comes up "one more chance" wow I cranked up that baby in the car great bassline and her voice heaven!! Track three "do you feel love" treads into standard dance territory but is great nonetheless thanx to her sweet sounding voice..the rest of the tracks are awesome..note that half the album is in spanish but sounds wonderful nonetheless..her voice is just a sweet sounding now as it was back during the wonderful days as a cover girl!!! Now if I can only find a copy of the extremely hard to find cover girls album satisfy I'll be happier!! ANGEL WELCOME BACK..YOUR TIME TO RULE THE CLUBS HAS COME AGAIN GIRL!!! A must buy for dance fans old and new alike!!!!!!
