Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Awesome......Truly Awesome...............2003-09-26

I just received this CD and it is truly a unbelievable collection of music. Larry Heard headed in a different musical direction from his legendary godfather of house reputation. This is actually a remastered version of Sceneries not Songs Vol Tu (1995). (Forget about it ! You will never find the original release) Although this is not house music it's a mixture of ambient with elements of jazz and house that takes the listener on a breath-taking journey. Although the remix may seem a tad long (13 min +) I love it. Get this CD. This is a Larry Heard Masterpiece!

4 out of 5 stars A unique sound - mellow and jazzy.......2001-01-27

Other people seem to be very familiar with the name Larry Heard, with house music often being mentioned in the same sentence - the only one of his albums I've come across is this one, and house music is the last thing that comes to my mind when listening to this. The sound of the music as a whole is incredibly mellow and easy-listening, with a strong jazz element and slightly cheesy, though not off-putting, edge that stems from the synth instruments and melody loops - I might even say some tracks are a bit...romantic. The percussion is conventional stuff, mostly slow breakbeat, and some dance tracks thrown in for good measure. I love this album - it has to be said. As a recommendation, I gave it a score of 4, because it is a tad repetitive, and I can see it might not be for everyone. To me however, the unique, calming sound has given me a soft spot for it, and as such it has sentimental value to me.

5 out of 5 stars MELLOW TECHNO.......1999-06-24

This is a stunningly beautiful cd. Music you can "chill out" to but with just enough "beats" that you don't end up snoozing. No vocals, just great synth instumentals. I enjoy listening to it while surfing the net. Larry Heard's cds are hard to find in the states so the extra $ are well worth it.
