Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Broad but not deep.......2000-07-24

This compilation is quite good but doesn't quite reach deep enough to stay in my CD player for more than one listen every now and then. If you like to use trance music as background for other activities Trance Psyberdelic is fine, inobtrusive and consistently driven. Unfortunately, it's a bit flat on its own--cranking the volume only accentuates its weaknesses. Good work from all the artists, but the album as a whole never quite achieves liftoff. The last track, "Space Puppy," is the strongest and I look forward to more from that artist.

4 out of 5 stars great cd.......2000-06-06

This cd has a good deal of interesting trance. It has some killer ear candy compared to a lot of compilations out there. One of the better trance cd's in my collection and I have almost all of the global underground stuff.

4 out of 5 stars A Collection of True Euro-Trance.......2000-04-16

Hard Trance is alive and well in this outstanding release from Moonshine Music. I first discovered `Hard Trance' in the early 1990's. I have never found such a concise collection of real psychedelic Trance in one collection.

First, a little bit about Trance Techno. It is a derivative of early ambient Techno. It splintered off sometime in the early nineties and found an audience in the rave scene. It had a history in the European clubs already but it was finding a new home in the desert southwest. A slight variation of this style became known as `High Desert Trance' while the original style seemed to stay on European continent. Trance is low on vocals so don't expect to be able to sing along in the car.

This collection seems to be mostly European in origin. It brings the best of what true trance has to offer. However different it may be from desert trance it is an excellent addition to any Techno head's collection. It is a fast paced roller coaster ride through hardcore electronic music.

Normally at this point I would try to select my favorite tracks. I just cannot do that here. This whole CD is more than an hour of non-stop Trance. There really does not seem to be individual tracks, just small strategic pauses in a trance journey. But don't just take my word for it. Check it out for yourself and decide. :)

5 out of 5 stars Incredible psytrance!.......1999-05-30

This was my first GOA album, and it is still by far my favorite.. It has tracks from Kox Box, Prana, Slide, and others. If you are a psytrance fan, you should get this! Oh, and if you do, listen to track 8.. it's my all time favorite song. 604!

4 out of 5 stars Some great, some not........1999-03-30

Some of these trance songs are truly exceptional, while others lack some of the depth of the good ones. Prana (especially), Slide, U.Xand some othera have really kick a** songs on this compilation, while some of the artists have only o.k. songs. All in all, the CD is worth buying, so shell out the $ and get it.
