5 out of 5 stars ...And that's coming from a guy who doesnt like Dance &Techno!!.......2007-03-05

The album is absolutly awesome. When someone told me about these guys the first thing I said was, "No thanks, I dont listen to dance music." He said, "No no it's not your typical kind of Dance music." So I took a chance and got it and I'm glad I did. This CD is almost euphoric. "Sunchyme" is such a awesome song that I decided to name my cat after it. (crazy I know) The song just keeps building and building for three minutes until you get to the whole gist of it. The accoustic version of "Voices" is absolutly beautiful and gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it. This CD is just great. You don't want to dance to it, you want to lay back and daydream to it. At least thats what I feel like doing to "End of the Beginning." this CD is absolutly perfect for a rainy day. For those who don't like Dance and Techno, at least give this album a try!

4 out of 5 stars Not your typical Dance Album.......2006-09-28

Dario G, a production team from North England, craft highly amusing Dance pop that is at times trite due to repetativeness. Though there are some definate good moments on this album.

Sunchyme- A track that certainly lives up to its name while setting the pace for the entire album. A bright house gem built around a sample from The Dream Academy's "Life in A Northern Town"

Carnival De Paris- Quite perhaps the most unusual House song ever produced. Whoever heard of using bagpipes in a dance song? An uplifting charmer one might use to cover an international competition (oh wait it was).
Sunmachine- This song takes a stab at making David Bowie's "Memory of a Free Festival" from Space Oddity a bit more..um memorable and succeeds. Bowie liked the song so much he gave the band the original demo of the song to sample. Add to that a piano, organ and a flute(played by Bowie's producer no less) and you have a track that's not only memoorable but 50 times better than the original Bowie record.

Voices- Possibly the only redeeming quality about the Leonardo DiCaprio film The Beach. A beautiful voice over an even more beautiful melody.

Be My Friend- Filler but beautiful vocals.

Peaches- Enigma-esque downtempo melody combined with a tech-house rythem.

Malaway- Tech house with a tribal chant. Amusing but not memorable.

Revolution- A protest House song. Hmmm

Voices- A stipped down version of the track.

End of the Beginning- The album comes to a close with an early version of Sunmachine. The David Bowie album version of the sample being played over an ambient Sunchyme. A bit long but a nice way to end things.

Overall, this album proves that the boys of Dario G are have an eve for producing, but not every song is memorable.

5 out of 5 stars amazing.......2004-12-27

I had this cd a long, long time. It is still in my collection of top cds. This cd introduced me to edm very early, I later moved on to the trance genre, but these songs are unforgetable. If you enjoy listening to uplifting tracks and dont mind a bit of a mix up in your track selection, then this cd is for you. Speaks for itself when one song was a massive signle, another the theme to the fifa world cup, and another the theme song for a movie, all this on one cd. Despite what some people say, the other tracks on the cd are very enjoyable and offer something different without the constant repetition you will find today. Josephll "Josephll", all i have to say is that you are quite wrong with your facts, and before you review this learn about the producers so you dont mislead people, yes there is an s there, seeing as there is more then one producer. As a matter of fact, Dario G is not a DJ either, then again its more then one person - Dario G are actually three young men from the north of England and Wales. Paul Spencer, Scott Rosser, and Stephen Spencer. No harm intended, just wanted to get it clear. Overall Amazing cd, 5 from 5, incredible songs, none of which sound the same as the other (with the exception of the last track which blends them all together in a nice downtempo mix). 5/5, and I highly recomend people go buy this whether you like trance or classical or whatever, im sure you will grow to love this cd.

2 out of 5 stars Some fun moments but alot is forgettable.......2004-03-17

Dario G is a British Dj that got some attention in 98, with especially "Synchyme" and Carneval de Paris" the song for the football world cup, a very good song with a nice melody and a mix of diffrent instuments, drums, and a changing tempo. It was a perfect choise for the world cup with so many countries in, the song could be identified with many nations. Many of those songs have been used before "Sunchyme" was based on "Life in a Northern Town' from the Dream Academy's and "Carneval de Paris" the song from world cup 1998 was also using samples from another song i think. The title track "Sunmachine" was a decent, dancable club song too, but there the fun ends. Most of the other songs are forgettable and not that good either. "peaches" sounds like a typical club song. "Malaway" is slightly better with a voice saying something i don't get. I haven't heard much of Dario G since but i still hear "Carneval de Paris" in diffrent occasions.

If anyone says this CD is bad, they have NO musical taste what so ever! Dario G sparked my interested in Electronic music (techno, trance, etc.) Tracks 1,3,4 are awesome! The CD should be bought just for those 3 songs. Voices & Sunmachine are 2 of my favorite songs ever. Dario G has some other great music too but it can be a challange to find it. Here are there good tracks: Deja Vu; Destination Calling; One More Day; Say What's on Your Mind; Strobe; Sunchyme; Sunmachine; Voices.
