Not What It Appears.......2001-07-24

On the surface, this appears to be a great disco mix. What they don't tell you is that these are all covers. Not one original recording in the batch, and the singers are not very good.There is a sort of stumbling effect when one song segues into another so the songs are not really non-stop. If I played this at a party, I would be tarred & feathered by my friends.All in all, they should have paid me to listen to this garbage.

These crazy folks from Canada capture the essence of disco better than anyone else has this decade. House of the Rising Sun and Don't let me be misunderstood are discofied conversions of 60's songs by The Animals. Most of the singing is at least as good as the original artists, some is better. Almost all the music is pumped up for maximum discofication! Most definately worth the price.

I would say 1 half a star but 1 star was the least. All these hits are other people trying to sing really good songs but they can't. Do not buy this crap.

I would only buy this cd if you want to laugh for a few hours. I was expecting original hits, but I guess I should have known better for $12. At first listen I thought it was the real thing, but then I realized it was people trying to sound like the original artists. Some are so bad you have to laugh. The rest of it is just a disappointment. I think I'll re-wrap it and give it to my cousin as a Christmas gift.
