Customer Reviews:
Hit repeat..........2007-03-08
I love this album! With a diverse range of moods, this CD creates a great "lounge" atmosphere. This is my only TC album, so I can't make any comparisons with their other work, only that within this genre, they stand near the top.
Hypnotizing And Seductive.......2006-11-10
The electric mix, downbeat style and sound is hypnotizing and seductive while seasonally spiced with jazz and samba.
This album is a must buy for hip fans or everone else who's not familiar with Thievery Corporation...
Finally.......2006-08-23
I finally got this album and it is exactly what I have been looking for: short tracks of relaxing trippy house. There are lots of middle eastern effects, which add to the music and rhythm of the album. It is just a joy to finally find a relaxing house album.
Fun worldwide electroparty.......2006-06-28
The kind of album with many decent songs but few amazing ones, Mirror Conspiracy does fulfill on it's promise of one fluid world electronic mystique of an experience, if slightly generic and exploitive of it's supposed influences. Rationalizing aside, this still beats the beats of the majority slop passing for club music to these days. With enough variety to constitute Thievery's eclectic mix, this is good "chillout"(whatever people actually do when calling it that) music for fans already initiated into the Massive Attack legions of somewhat creative beat influenced work, neither overwhelming with innovation nor dulling with a lack thereof. One thing is certain, this unit could potentially have a sound that creates a far more compelling atmosphere then their chilled but less involving style more akin to this album's closer, but that is just my (way to serious for my own good) taste!
Top 10 CD.......2006-04-03
The Mirror Conspiracy is another great blend of electronica, lounge, raga, afro-beat, latin-stylings and downright cool tunes. There are a lot of musical stylings going on. The World element really makes this album shine. I like the Jazzy element too, it reminds me a bit of "Air", "Spicehouse" and "Nuspirit Helsinki". If you're familiar with Thievery Corporation then you'll be familiar with their engrossing downbeat style and sound. If you're not familiar with Thievery Corporation - then you should be. There are a few points where the tracks jolt your ear because they don't blend into the album as well as the others. That said this cd is not one to miss.
