Very, very good album.......2005-02-08

I have been into downtempo for quite awhile now, and this album is definitely towards the top of my list. Tracks such as "Lalo Caught Me Dancin'" and "The End" are a great mix of jazzy instrumentation and a bit of electronic beats. Overall a great album, but with only 9 tracks, each one would have to be truly stellar for me to give it the full 5 stars.

If you dig this type of music, try some of these, you won't be disapointed: St. Germain's "Tourist" (still the album by which I compare any new downtempo disc I hear), Nightmares on Wax "Carboot Soul", Bonobo "Dial M for Monkey", Cinematic Orchestra, J. Boogie's "Dubtronic Science" (a bit more hip hop than these others), and Projections "Between Here & Now".

Well, it's easy to review a CD like this one...it's a FIVE STARS. No way to find something wrong, each song it's perfect.
Also the different female voices (Ladybird and Nicole Graham)are the best for this kind of music. For sure it's a jazz CD also if it's with a lot of influence, but i am not agree with the amzon suggestions that who is going to buy this album also buy : Gabin..(???), Groove Armada (???), Thievery Corporation (???), artists that i like but artists that are on other kind of music!
On the 9 songs i love very much : Novel Sound (a mystic prayer), Indigo Blues (smoking, drinking and never thinking..)and I cry (for dance and dance with smart music).
Yes, it's a FIVE STARS!

I own several electro jazz and chill-out jazz compilations and for my taste no other can touch the sheer enjoyment I get every time I listen to this Llorca CD. While other complilations (like St. Germain - I own 3) are good, the songs on this particular album are more memorable and have achieved more of a "classic" status with me. What makes this album stand out is its smooth 'funk' feel and vocals. When I close my eyes I can truly see myself back in a Paris nightclub at 1am. Listen, close your eyes and see where it takes you...
