Gabry Ponte shows why Eiffel 65 is good, because of him.......2003-04-27

The solo album of Eiffel 65 DJ is excellent. Even though I am American and only know English, the Italian words flow very elequently with the dance beats. The harmonies of such songs as "Geordie" give a nostalgic touch and the video reminds one of folklore. The pop radio fav "Time 2 Rock" is great in the clubs, although US Radio has to bleep out the f*@& word. Technically, you can hardly make out the word on the original version. It sounds more like fahhk in the original. I look forward to more albums by Gabry and Eiffel 65, who has self-titled album coming soon from the Sanremo tour last year. If you are a fan of Eiffel 65, you would like Gabry Ponte- high recommend both of those for clubbers

expected better.......2003-03-11

I was rather disappointed with Gabry Ponte's solo album. I feel his talents are best combined with the efforts of the other two members of Eiffel 65. The first track on the album, "Man In The Moon" was great! However, that was it! That song seemed like it belonged on a different album as far as style and mood. I purchased this album based on the fact that Eiffel 65 has always put out great music and knowing that Ponte was a part of that music, I assumed this solo album would be a sure bet. No such luck! Not a good album and not recommended!

i've always loved eiffel 65, and have both of their albums. a month or so ago i saw gabry's single "time to rock" in the store. i bought it, never having heard it, and not even knowing he has a solo release coming up. well, i LOVED it. i went to his web sit to find out more. well, i dont know a thing about italian, so that didnt help.Next, i went to amazon.com and ordered his full lenth cd.Today it came and i couldn't have been happier.What a great cd! i give it four stars just for the track "always on my mind". This song has to be the most beautiful dance song i have ever heard (besides lasgo-something). This womans voice is gorgeous, the lyrics are perfect and the melody is flawless.definetly should be a single in the states. i cant say enough about this song. "the man on the moon" is with male vocals and will remind you of gigi dagostino's "i'll fly with you"- need i say more? other stand out trax are "my butterfly", "memories" and "geordie", the latter is a great dance number sung in italian with male and female vocals. also check out "Waterfall". i'm not one for instramentals, but this song is perfect without any vocals. The reason i didnt give this cd five stars is because i have this thing where i HATE spoken words in an entire song. and a few songs here fall into that category. "terra libera" starts off great with an 80"s electro vibe but then just gets killed when the male voice starts talking. I'd love to know who the guest vocalists are on this album (they're not credited) because they really are very good. congradulation gabry, you have produced a fantastic album.

An off-the-wall, pumpin' techno masterpiece!.......2003-01-15

If you are looking at this CD, than you have probably heard a couple Gabry solo tracks, or at least heard of his band, "Eiffel 65". He's a DJ at nightclubs, a DJ in a band, and a writer/producer for Eiffel 65 along with several other Blissco artists. He put a "Parcivalia" track that he produced on this album titled, "De Musica Tonante", which means, "Music of the Night", in italian, his first language. An awesome track with beautiful italian lyrics. Also features his world-famous tracks, "Got to Get", "Time 2 Rock", and his brand spankin' new hit italian single, "Geordie" with enchanting female vocals. The album, on the whole, sound quite similar to Eiffel 65 products, but with that outstanding Gabry Ponte personal touch.
