Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars nice beats but too boring.......2007-02-11

what drives me crazy is the music being looped over and over.. good beats if ur into drum and bass.

5 out of 5 stars for the fans of nitin sawhney.......2002-12-22

nice music for lover of drum and bass and indian music influences , some traks sounds like nitin sawhney style

2 out of 5 stars Could have been a great CD.......2002-05-24

It's too bad that this composition is overwhelmed by an overbearing, unimaginative, tired drum loop that completely drowns out an otherwise decent jam of Indian music.

2 out of 5 stars Pretty good background music.......2002-02-14

Pretty good CD for background music, but some of the bass lines are a little cheesy.

5 out of 5 stars incredible layering of wonderful sounds.......2001-10-31

This is exactly what i'm looking for in music. I have always loved the sound of the various South Asian percussion instruments that they use in this album, and have various CDs of Tabla and Raga music that I love for this reason. Additionally, I'm an electronica fan, with special interest in music with thick textures. This is that...excellent combination of natural sounds and layering that you can feel. They have a unique take on the South Asian style of vocal percussion (something that has always fascinated me) in 130 steps. If you like drum and bass this is an excellent interesting outpocketing of the genre. Perhaps what I like best about this is that the music is much more original and textured than the other forms of "Asian Underground", techno layered on Asian sounds, usually South Asian and Indian.
