Customer Reviews:
never been to hatfield peverel.......2005-11-17
Ignore the other reviews written by jonnie foreigner types. This is a classic techno album. Some of the most beautifully programmed music you'll ever hear, produced by guys who are masters of the Genre. and who back in 1991 probably had very long hair.
Lost in da shuffle.......2003-10-14
Empirion's one and only (to my knowledge) album "Advanced Technology" doesn't break any new ground, although I give the band full marks for naming all their sources/inspirations in the liner notes.
This is a fully functional--albeit extremely minimalist--electronica album that will be considered by many to be extremely boring. But I found it no less impressive than anything by Photek or the Jungle Brothers in their prime, so take it as you will.
Terrific CD.......2000-06-02
I have listened to this CD about 1000 times (really). Influences include Front 242, Lassigue bendthaus, Clock DVA...need I say more. (....)
Intensely beautiful........1999-10-05
This was advertised as "Orbital meets Prodigy," and I don't know if that's accurate. However, if it will convince you to buy this disc, compare it to whatever you like. The majority of the album is very electronic and hard-hitting, taking a refreshing breather for the breathtaking "Ayahuasca." They don't quite have the melodic drive that characterizes the elite of the genre, but they come very close. It gets the blood flowing.
definitely worth it!.......1999-08-19
Ayahuasca is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard since Lush 3-1 by Orbital. Some of the tracks on this disk can be annoying, but really this song alone is reason enough to own this album.
