Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars You've found a Classic worth it's weight in gold!.......2000-11-17

This is (as noted before) dance music's finest hour...or at least half hour. Sasha's best me thinks. CJ's is just OK. I've owned this mix tape since 1993 and have since burned it and made back up copies of it. To lose this one would be tragic. This is as close to perfect as I can think of when it comes to the music I love. Beautifuly mixed to match a beautiful era. Select grooves that never fail new or old. It's worth the money... in fact it's almost priceless... it's sacred. Anyways, I like it...(I'm usually really critical too.)

5 out of 5 stars Now, that's what I call music.......2000-02-23

This album represents the brilliant early years of house, garage, latino, speed (call it what you like). Sasha's aggressive pounding drumbeat mixed with the era's melodic hoppy keyboardy style is breathtaking. It is a golden age of music before this kind of music became commercially orientated, where the packaging of the CD is greater than musical content. CJ's music is excellent, however, a different style to Sasha. I suspect that back in the golden days of the early nineties, the record company tried to appeal to all devotees by including two great DJs. Every style of music has that wonderful moment, when the possibilities seem endless, this is Mixmag's finest hour.

5 out of 5 stars some good old pukka house music.......1998-10-11

This cd is truly going to take you back to early days of dance music. Sasha is faultless in his mixing, and his track choice is impeccable. The only downside to the cd, why did they put CJ Macintosh on the same cd as Sasha, completely different stlyes of music. But if you love trancey house music from days past this is the very best you are ever going to get. Look out for the Gordon Kaye/John digweed cd also. And while your at it, you may as well get the Renaissance cd too (Sasha and John Digweed).
