Amazing guitar player.......2005-08-15

Saw Mike & his group play here in Los Angeles at the Baked Potato. He is an amazing player. He plays so effortlessly and seems to have a humility about him that is so refreshing these days. So then I bought Noise Travels and I certainly was not disappointed. Simply amazing guitar playing. Totally original kind of music that is extremely interesting and musical. It's real jazzy and goes through some cool mellow moods but at times really kicks butt. And his tones are superb. It's going to take me quite a long time to learn any of his licks but it is certainly a pleasure to listen to this music. I hightly recommend Noise Travels.

Very great cd........2005-03-04

This cd is great. Many many interesting moments and very fne guitar playing. It reminds me of soundtrack music from a real good movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat while going through a variety of jazz fusion styles. Sometimes bombarding you with lightning fast guitar playing and then other times soothing you with quiet moments that sound like an entire symphony. The band is very tight and there is an element of spontaneity and mystery in their enseble playing that I cannot find in any other cd. It's very great how these three guys make so much music with just guitar, bass, and drums. I love listening to this at night with a good glass of wine. Highly recommended. Five stars.

Free jazz at its finest.......2005-01-30

This cd takes me back to the John Coltrane era of jazz improvisations. Reminds me of when great musicians went in to the recording studio and did what they did best. Well right on to Mike and the group. This is one monster of an accomplishment. If the Pachelli group was around in the 60's they'd be heralded in Downbeat magazine as one of the best. Unfortunately in this pre-fabricated world very few people probably can appreciate the fact that these musicians went into a recording studio and laid down this incredible work. And incredible it is! I challenge all guitar players to listen to Noise Travels. It should be known as a chapter out of the bible on how to play guitar.

fine jazz-rock/fusion trio-album.......2004-11-08

Mike Pachelli this time shows talents on his guitar that seem to be inspired by the 80's chordal work of Allan Holdsworth and Bill Connors; strong riffs and theme's introduce improvised solo's that will bring the lovers of jazz-rock as well as shredding-fusion in a good mood.

I have been a fan of Mike for years. Spent much time watching his television program on V32 when I lived in Florida. This cd reminds me of the kind of jamming he used to do with the guests on his show like Zakk Wylde and Stevie Ray Vaughan. The liner notes say the cd was recorded live with no overdubs. Pachelli plays amazing on this cd. There's a photo inside showing a stack of different amplifiers he used so guess he switched between them to get the wide variety of tones. This is really a great cd that gives Allan Holdsworth a run for his money.
