Again I'm Blown away!.......2005-03-12

After I bought the Pachelli CD Noise Travels I did a web search on him to find out more about him. There are a million pages on this guy and now I understand why! I bought Acoustic Painting and it's the finest acoustic guitar recording I've ever heard in my life. I am absolutely blown away by his diversity. It is amazing to me that the same guitar player on Noise Travels is the guy who plays on Acoustic Painting. He plays fingerstyle and tapping like Michael Hedges, classical like Segovia, jazz like Joe Pass, Chet Atkins type country, and Spanish & Flamenco. Totally amazing. I highly recommend this CD.

Total acoustic bliss.......2004-10-25

I listened to this CD immediately after I've finished listening to Mike's fusion CD "Noise Travels" and was pleasently surprised. Not that I dislike "Noise Travels" - I totally enjoyed the fusion workings of Mike in a electric trio setting. I was expecting a jazz acoustic album along the line of "Noise Travels" but was pleasently surprised on how well it came across. Imagine a solo acoustic guitar performance of a classical piece with equal portion of folk+rock, finishing off with a touch of jazz, this is what the album felt to me. Not only did it relaxes the listener but it challenges the ear with its impressive and intricate guitar work (we're not talking about some guitarist struming to the sound of flowing river here!). Mike's version of Amazing Grace, to me, is one of the album's stand out track.

Very nice acoustic cd.......2004-09-24

I was very excited to find this work by guitarist Mike Pachelli. It is quite different from his other recordings. Pachelli shines bright when he plays electric and there's no doubt he's one of the finest six-stringers I've ever heard. Now I'm convinced he's from another planet! How can somebody be so good at electric and acoustic guitar playing? Acoustic Painting has the nicest solo acoustic guitar pieces I've ever heard. It's reminiscent of Phil Keaggy's solo work but I think Mike's writing is catchier. My wife loves this cd also and is playing it so much that you'd think it was Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Good job Mike and please record more acoustic guitar.
