About the Artist
He is a singer, composer, promoter, speaker, manager of jazz life. For 25 years he has been the promoter of European festival Bratislava jazz days.

In the 1980s he regularly placed in the top 5 in the charts of International Jazz Federation Magazine His roots are blues, soul and classical mainstream. He is flexible and has a perfect stylish orientation. His range starts from classical jazz standards and Dixieland thru´ Latin, jazz chanson and ends with spirituals, funk or rock. He was mostly influenced by Jimmy Rushing, Ray Charles, Al Jarreau, Joe Cocker and Bobby McFerrin. He is a spontaneous improvising type of singer. Presently he came to an over stylish songwriting and works with the best Slovak lyricists.

if Kenny G is "easy listening" then Dorman is "rewarding listening". These guys actually seem to believe what they play. Catch 'em live or grab the disc - same rich musical experience. You won't get spoon-fed lyrics in cliches or riffs in tired arrangements. You'll get good rock, fresh rock, thoughtful rock, and with one or two songs that show a mischevious sense of humor.

Your Music Collection is missing out on this..........2002-06-23

This is an amazing collection of compositions, but don't expect it to be background music. You'll find yourself compelled to pay attention to the intelligent and thoughtful lyrics. If you live in the Northeast, you might even get lucky enough to see Dorman play live in a neighborhood club. For all the rest of us, the CD is treat enough. Think of this music as a well-kept secret that you're getting in on.

I love the diversity of the music -- each song is something new, and you can tell the musicians are each talented in their own right. Everytime I listen to it, I discover something new in meaning...the words make me think and feel and enter into its story. You couldn't ask for a better combination in a CD!

Here are four individually talented people, each able to hold their own separately on stage if ever necessary...but then put them together...I saw them live and believe me, there is nothing on this album that isn't there right in front of your eyes... if you appreciate God given talent mixed with a true dedication to their art you'll love this album.

I was bored one day, so i went to [website] and i looked at their recommendations for alternative/rock/pop music. I downloaded Afterschool Special and I absolutely loved it. So I downloaded Driving South which was another great song by BSR. I went and bought the CD which I absolutely love! I hope that if they want to make it(because some bands just enjoy being small town bands) they do because their music is awesome!

Wow these guys have some great stuff. Every song is filled with hooks and sweet harmonies and enough crunchy guitar for any alternative music fan. The songwriting is excellent and the lyrics are cohesive. For those of you out there that remember The Posies, Material Issue and Teenage Fanclub, you will no doubt like BSR. For those caught up in the new Lifehouse CD, you might want to check these guys out. They actually are better.

I bought the new cd "Roller Coaster Goodbye" at one of their killer live shows. This band writes the coolest, hookiest stuff I've heard in years. They have amazing voices and their harmonies blend very well. A few of the songs on the album are world-class like the album's opener "Driving South." Other songs on the album like "Come Down Lovely" "Like Opium" and "After School Special/Coda" show the true depth of the bands songwriting. Unlike most CDs (where you struggle just to find more than one good song) this record has a lot for the listener to sink their teeth into. Also as an extra-special bonus: the production of this CD is really good. If you're into heartfelt guitar pop that rocks, you've come to the right place.

Innovative, yet slightly scary.......2005-02-18

There are two types of Beatles covers - ones that try to duplicate the performance of the Fab Four, and the ones adapted into the styles of the cover artists. Joe Cocker's "With a Little Help From My Friends" is one example of the latter, and in his liner notes, Peter Lipa even credits Joe Cocker's rendition as his inspiration.
Lipa's covers of Beatles songs are wildly innovative, and since he picked some relatively obscure songs like "Misery" and "No Reply", in some cases it may take you a while to recognize them. In addition to the jazz backing tracks he's added new phrasings, and his trademark scats and even growls.
Unfortunately, his Slovakian accent and somewhat strange style has an unintended effect on a love song like "I've Just Seen a Face" or "I Saw Her Standing There - they sounded to me like they were being sung by a stalker. "Got to Get You Into My Life" and "I Wanna Be Your Man" also become a little creepy in his style. The picture on the album cover doesn't help.
