The Gensis of Kirk Whalum's recording career.......2005-03-22
If you are reading this than you must either be like me, a real fan or someone who has a great deal of time to waste. I bought this CD after owning all of Kirk's other work. It is not easy to obtain an authentic CD. But when I did, I was happy I did. I had never heard the hit Rodeo the first track on the CD. There are others on this that I enjoyed. I enjoyed Kyles Smiles (written for his son who is now quite a bass player, now 20+ yrs old) and Floppy Disk. A real collector should own this. Enjoy!
I Love Kirk!.......1999-06-10
Back in the late 1980's, this album introduced me to both jazz and to Kirk Whalum. I have been a fan of both ever since. My all-time favorite is "Afterthought". Congratulations Kirk on your continued success; you deserve it!
Includes the fabulous track "Rodeo".......1999-02-26
The classic funk-jazz hit "Rodeo", contained on this CD, became so well-known that Kirk tired of playing it at one live gig we saw. The rest of the album doesn't attain the heights of this one tune.
