Product Description
JazzIz Magazine February 2005 Vocalist Joe Bourne lived in the Netherlands for 25 years and has released 10 European Albums, but the Massachusetts native's latest CD is decidedly America. Remembering Mr. Cole is a salute to the late Nat King Cole, but not just as one of the quintessential American singers. The disc also features pianist Gary Moran and his trio with guitarist Ed Delucia and bassist Scott Black on the late -1940s material by the Nat King Cole trio, in which the vocalist was also an underrated pianist. Bourne's warm baritone and Moran's finesse combine on memorable versions of " Walking Baby Back Home, " Besame Mucho" and Sweet Lorraine". But with the assistance of De Lucia and Black, Bourne and Moran absolutely bring the king back to life.
