Overall this wasn't a bad album but I expected better. T.I. is a great artist and his previous 3 albums are dope as ever but this is his first effort that I was disapointed with. The album is mixed with great and average tracks. I've still got faith in T.I.P. though. Maybe next years T.I. vs. T.I.P. will bring back his creditability after this fairly disapointing effort.
SUPERB, MAGNIFICENT, AWESOME.......2006-08-22

King of the South? Maybe.......2006-08-20
T.I.'s latest release, King, is excellent, his best so far. A few songs aside, this album is great, with smooth flows, solid guest appearences and nice beats. Although the album starts off better than it finishes, although the quality songs are somewhat evenly distributed throughout the album.
The first real song is "Front Back", featuring solid verses from both members of UGK (Bun B and Pimp C). However, the best song on the album follows, in the form of "What You Know". With a menacing beat and background and silky smooth raps and hooks, this one definitely needs to be considered for the year's best. "I'm Talkin' to You" is a nice call-out-the-haters track, with him going into a Twista-like frensy about two thirds of the way through the song. "Live in the Sky", a solid introspective cut featuring Jamie Foxx follows, with the bouncy "Ride wit Me" after that.
The album then hits a bit of a funk, with the annoying "Why You Wanna". Despite chart success, I still haven't managed to like this one. "Get It" is very overproduced and hyper, and "Top Back" is boring. However, next comes the excellent "I'm Straight" featuring B.G. and Young Jeezy. "Stand Up Guy" is average, but the next track "Goodlife" featuring Common and Pharrell is melodic and nice to listen to. After the non-descript "Hello" and "Told You So" comes "Bankhead", with posse P$C and Young Dro, a smooth way to end the album.
Overall, this is a well-rounded album that can be appreciated even if you're a first time T.I. listener.

Good album but its not T.I at his best.......2006-08-15
T.i is living proof that there is some good rappers out of the south. I liked Im serious, Trap Musik and Urban Legend but this album is kind of pale in comparison to Urban Legend. Standout tracks: WHAT YOU KNOW, IM TALKING TO YOU, GET IT, IM STRAIGHT, KING BACK, GOOD LIFE, YOU KNOW WHO, RIDE WIT ME etc. Filler: Hello is an awful joint that should've been dumped with the quickness, the undertaker is boring, Front/Back is not better than the original track, Top back could've been a classic if it wasnt for the awful beat provided by Mannie Fresh and the skits with Mike Epps are stupid beyond belief. Even with these flaws its still a better album than the P$C album and the other so-called album where a certain weasel(guess who) freestyled through the whole thing and called it an album!
T.I - FANTASTIC!!!!.......2006-07-29
Though I am an r'n'b girl, this is The Best Rap album i've ever heard...The REAL KING...go and buy it, u won't be dissapointed.

Album Description
Born and raised near Chicago, guitarist/vocalist Moss has effectively captured the classic sound of 1950s-style Chicago blues as exemplified by Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Otis Rush and Buddy Guy. Before going out on his own, Nick went to "blues school" by going out on the road and recording with such artists as Jimmy Dawkins, the Legendary Blues Band, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith, Big Bill Morganfield and--most notably--legendary guitarist Jimmy Rogers, who was Nick's primary influence and mentor for the almost three years Nick was in his band as second guitarist.
The album's title refers to Nick's first child, born last May and named after Hound Dog Taylor and John Lee Hooker songs. "Sadie Mae" features 13 original songs, as well as his own smokin' interpretations of songs by Earl Hooker ("You Got to Lose"), Lefty Dizz ("If I Could Get My Hands on You") and Jimmy Rogers ("Crazy Woman Blues").
Nick's previous three albums all received critical acclaim from blues audiences around the globe, and his last two albums, Count Your Blessings (2003) and Got a New Plan (2001) both earned him W.C. Handy Award nominations. His band, the Flip Tops, includes some of the best young blues players around, including keyboardist Bob Welsh (Charlie Musselwhite, Rusty Zinn), harmonica player/guitarist Gerry Hundt, bassist Dave Wood and drummer Victor Spann. Out front and center is the incendiary guitar and vocals of Nick Moss, himself, who transports the listener back in time to a Southside juke joint with a few guitar licks or moanin' vocals.

Fat Update of the Chicago Blues Sound.......2006-02-14
This is a great, great blues album. Nick and his band have a fat blues sounds that is heavily influenced by the Chicago Blues masters, but is has a very modern and fresh sound to it. Nick paid his dues playing for Jimmy Rogers and in the Lendary Blues band. This album see Nick come of age and into his own. Album was nominated for Blues Album of the year by the Blues Foundation and when you hear it you will understand why. It should have won IMHO!. I have not been this excited about a new blues artist since Stevie Ray and Texas Flood. This is a great blues album with excellent guitar playing and very good supporting band. Album is solid throughout and title track sounds best played loud. Also check out Nick's 'Got a New Plan' for another get new blues album. Nick is the real deal - You will not be disappointed.
modern Chicago blues.......2006-02-06
If you like Chicago-style blues, you gotta get this CD. This one covers all the styles with modern, fresh, clever lyrics; a tight band with killer keyboards; killer harp; and killer guitar playing. And lots of music for the buck (there's 16 tracks!). This is the best CD yet from Nick Moss and the Flip Tops. Go get it!
Worth every penny and more.......2005-12-16
I listen to a lot of blues, and have been playing blues guitar for 10 years. My main influences are Warren Haynes, Muddy Waters, T-bone Walker, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy, Duke Robillard, Ronnie Earl, Kenny "Blue" Ray, and Jimmy D. Lane among others. And now I can add Nick Moss to that list. In fact, he blows them all away if you ask me.
I had the pleasure (and luck) to see Nick Moss play live at the Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland Oregon a few years back, and he was the best performer there that day. Junior Watson, Phil Guy, and Kenny "Blue" Ray were there that same day but Nick Moss was the show stopper. This album is a real testament to how he sounds live.
His other albums are good but this one is great. If you enjoy blues at all, you are sure to love Nick Moss & the Flip Tops. You shouldn't call yourself a fan of blues music until you've heard this CD, because you're missing the best part of it all.
75 minutes of open-mouthed listening.......2005-06-16
Sadie Mae - the new album of Nick Moss & the Flip Tops - is certainly one of the greatest Blues events of this summer. 75 minutes of open-mouthed listening. With more evidence than ever Nick Moss demonstrates how contemporary may sound the tradition-based Chicago Blues. More than that - though, in the liner note, he affirms not to be "trying to take blues to the next level", - he does take the real, authentic Blues up to the level of classical music, where the words "old" and "new", "now" and "then" loose their sense in the face of an everlasting beauty. A not to miss album for all Blues lovers. Even more for those who aren't - these 75 minutes will make them change their mind!

Brutality was always the central selling point for this loud and fast Minneapolis trio, but there was a strange development after five years on the independent SST Records. Melodies happened. The last album before jumping to big Warner Bros. Records, 1985's Flip Your Wig contains some of guitarist Bob Mould's strongest songcraft, from the cracked chorus of "Makes No Sense at All" to the big-rock chords of the sociopolitical power lesson "Divide and Conquer." Though Hüsker's raw production and biting lyrics helped them avoid punk charges of "selling out," this album hints at traditional pop values. --Steve Knopper
Customer Reviews:
Flip Your Wig - One of Huskers Best.......2006-10-06
This is the great over looked album of Husker Du's original SST releases and my favorite. I think it is so overlooked because of the obvious greatness of New Day Rising and the fact that somehow, Rolling Stone managed to brainwash everyone into believing that Zen Arcade is the Holy Grail of Eighties Garage/punk. Fip Your Wig was the very first Husker Du album I ever heard and the first song I heard was Find Me - I heard it on KNLU in Monroe, LA. (One of the best college stations in the world at the time - I think they were kickin' out all of 25 watts.) Find Me did for me what it asks. In a soup of Smiths and Hairmetal the open chords of Find Me screamed like nothing I had ever hear before. The rest of the songs do not disapoint with two exceptions, the obligatory experimental song The Wit and the Wisdom and The Baby Song. One particular standout is Divide and Conquer - it will have you shaking your head and pounding the steering wheel on the way to work! This album/CD, what ever the format stands up very well even 20 years later.
"Normal people going for a spin".......2006-04-03
Flip Your Wig was Husker Du's last album for SST before they ventured to Warner Bros. At this point, it was already clear they were moving in a more mainstream direction than their post-punk roots. This album has a more open, accessible sound than the raw, rough-around-the-edges New Day Rising which was also released in 1985. At his point in their career, Grant Hart was really emerging as an amazing singer/songwriter and I wish more of his stuff was on this album (well, not "The Baby Song"). His tracks on their next album, Candy Apple Grey, are awesome.
"Flip Your Wig" (Mould) 2:33: The title track was the opening for many of their stage shows. It is a fun, little song with Bob Mould and Grant Hart both providing lead vocals. I like the lyrics: "Sunday section gave us a mention/ Grandma's freaking out over the attention/ Now my friends abound They're coming back around./ Long distance on the other end says I need them for a friend/ No matter what I choose I'm the one they want to use." Still, I'm not all that crazy about this song. I think it is because I do not like the saying "flip your wig."
"Every Everything" (Hart) 1:56: Storming rocker by Grant Hart. The tempo really kicks at the chorus. A hard rockin' two minutes!
"Makes No Sense at All" (Mould) 2:43: One of the Huskers most recognizable songs. It was released as a single backed with the Minneapolis-based Mary Tyler Moore Show theme "Love Is All Around" complete with music video. A Husker Du standard.
"Hate Paper Doll"(Mould) 1:52: I don't care for this song. It is very recognizable. As soon as it pops on I think, "Ugh! That paper doll song!" It just seems a bit hokey for me (for lack of a better term).
"Green Eyes" (Hart) 2:58: One of Grant Hart's best! A love song without sounding like one. Not sappy, but sweet with a cool guitar riff provided by Mould that drives the track.
"Divide & Conquer" (Mould) 3:42: A noisy rocker by Bob Mould. Not one of my all-time Husker favorites, but it's good once in a while.
"Games" (Mould) 4:06: This song is just OK. It is not near as hokey as "Hate Paper Doll," but "It's a game that anyone can play" line, musically, seems a bit contrived.
"Find Me" (Mould) 4:05: A strong hard rocker by Mould. The intensity stays with this one while the other heavy Mould track "Divide & Conquer" rocks out at the end. This song drags a little. Excellent, emotional vocals by Mould.
"The Baby Song" (Hart) 0:46: Well, at least it's only 46 seconds, but it is a complete waste of 46 seconds. It is Grant Hart playing around on a slide whistle.
"Flexible Flyer" (Hart) 3:01: Hart makes up for the bad filler track with this one. This is a fun, accessible song about enjoying life using a popular sled as an example. "If your heart is a flame burning brightly/ You'll have light and you'll never be cold/ And, soon you will know that you just grow/ You're not growing old." Great track! One of my all-time Husker Du favorites! I only wish Hart's vocals were louder and clearer. His voice seems so quiet on some of these tracks.
"Private Plane" (Mould) 3:17: Nice, straight-forward rocker. Airlines seems to be a recurring theme with Husker Du ("Find Me", "Dead Set on Destruction").
"Keep Hanging On" (Hart) 3:15: A Grant Hart classic! From the opening bass line on, this song just kicks! Hart's vocals are excellent here, too.
"The Wit and the Wisdom" (Mould) 3:41: Dark, foreboding instrumental.
"Don't Know Yet: (Mould) 1:56: Interesting instrumental. It has a cool vibrating guitar sound. It is OK as an album ending, I guess.
Flip Your Wig is not as solid as Candy Apple Grey and doesn't have as many amazing tracks as New Day Rising, but the best tracks on here (most of which are Grant Hart's) make this album definitely worth, well, maybe not flipping your wig over, but at least shaking it around a bit.
Husker's Low Point.......2006-02-26
This album has bugged me for years, being the only Husker Du album I feel just plain outright sucks. For a long time I was under the impression that the problem with this album was its horrendous production (other reviewers have pointed out the specific flaws; this must be the worst production I've ever heard on a rock album, absolutely sucks the life out of the music). I've concluded however that the production flaw doesn't cover the whole range of this album's suck-age. Rather - and I'm being balasphemous here - the songwriting flat-out sucks as well. To my ears, this is the band's nadir, tremedously disappointing coming on the heals of such masterworks as "Everything Falls Apart", "Zen Arcade" and "New Day Rising". The bank's subsequent albums, "Candy Apple Grey" and "Warehouse", were marred by Mould & Hart's sub-par production as well (though better in comparison to this album), but at least the songwriting on those albums was much improved over this flaccid one. All in all, this is the only Husker Du album I wouldn't recommend.
Bad Example.......2005-11-07
Breaking away from a mob mentality and becoming a true free thinker is always a great thing. In the mid `80's, several hardcore bands were able to evolve out of the basic hardcore blueprint into something special. The doom punk of Black Flag, the noise rock of Big Black, and the goth punk of Samhain were excellent examples of the evolution of hardcore. Husker Du's attempt at evolving from hardcore wasn't very impressive to say the least.
"New Day Rising" is the true dividing point in the Husker Du catalog with half of the songs representing their old sound and the other half representing their new direction. If you liked "I Apologize," "Celebrated Summer," "If I Told You," and "Books About UFOs" then you are sure to like "Flip Your Wig." If you liked "New Day Rising," "Girl Who Lives on Heaven Hill," "Folk Lore," and "I Don't Know What You're Talking About" then you will probably hate "Flip Your Wig."
From the vocals to the guitar to the tempos, "Flip Your Wig" is cleansed of all hardcore elements. There were no more passionate shouts or screams coming from Bob Mould or Grant Hart. There may be a bit of fuzz in the guitars, but barely enough to be noticed. The songs pretty much stay at the average pop rock pace. To sum it up, these are cheesy '60's style pop songs that are very annoying.
When this album was released in 1985, Reagan had just been reelected and the Christian "moral majority" were at the peak of their power with the FCC and major media outlets censoring anything that may be even slightly rebellious. It was the worst point in time for Husker Du to begin recording soft rock songs devoid of anger.
my favorite.......2005-06-05
Flip Your Wig is my favorite Hüsker Dü album. the title track is one of the catchiest songs i've ever heard. very call-and-response type song. all of mould's songs on this are amazing. hart's keep hanging on and green eyes are good pop songs. makes no sense at all is also just catchy and infectious as hell. then they branch out lyrically with divide and conquer. the baby song i don't really find that funny but isn't really filler. games is my favorite song with lyrics like "i don't need to go walking in misery" and "never a need to justify it when when people say i was important too." husker du have become my 2nd favorite band of all time. check these guys out. they influenced too many bands not to be well known.

Album Description
Live at Chan's is the first live album from guitarist Nick Moss, and the follow-up to his last CD, Sadie Mae, which garnered stellar reviews, strong radio support and extended features in several guitar magazines about the blues guitar prowess of Moss. That wave of acclaim for Sadie Mae also brought nominations for "Album of the Year" and "Traditional Album of the Year" from The Blues Foundation's 2006 Blues Awards, at which Nick and the band also performed.
Live at Chan's is Nick's present to all his fans who've clamored for a live recording from the Chicago Blues guitar master and it plays just like one of his shows: honest, energized and visceral! Live at Chan's is the perfect showcase not only for Nick's blistering, soulful guitar and vocals, but also the amazing keyboard work of Piano Willie Oshawny, the multi-talented bass, harp and guitar playing of Gerry Hundt and the solid drumming of Victor Spann, all road-tested vets with the band over the last year or so. Added to the great ensemble playing is special guest "Monster" Mike Welch for three tracks on guitar. The songs include a number of fan favorites from his previous four studio CDs, as well as some new originals and choice band covers.
Born and raised near Chicago, Moss has effectively captured the classic sound of 1950s-style Chicago blues as exemplified by Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Otis Rush and Buddy Guy. Live at Chan's.......2007-03-29
I didn't know this young asset guitarist of Chicago Blues, nevertheless after listening "LIVE AT CHAN'S" I'm sure, I'm glad to know about him, this record is really good and I think that is one of the better live records of the year (2005). It has the contribution always inestimable of big young guitar "MONSTER" Mike WELCH and the stellar WILLIE OSHAWNY's piano performance. Talking about songs all of them are very good but I like mainly "CHECK MY PULSE", the tender "I LOVE THE WOMAN" the colossal "I NEVER FORGET" with a Magic Slim taste alike "IT'S GOOD IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD", the big blues "ONE-EYED JACK", the instrumental close song "MORE OVER, MORRIS" and the fast one "YOUR RED WAGON". A must buy it, really great stuff and very good.

i need mine aspirin after listening to this crap........2007-06-14
Its bad enough that this idiot lowlife clown considers himself a rapper. Its horrible that his dumb, retarded nursery rhymes which supposedly took 10 minutes to make (no surprise, they suck) are blown out of proportion by this idiot. Its just ridiculous that this moron considers himself up to par with Jay-Z and commonly associates himself with hip-hop.
Worst part of all, ITS ANOTHER DOUBLE DISC CD. of what, you say? CRAP. the same crap and horse manure you dealt with in You Gotta Feel Me. I didn't feel that album and i sure as heck don't and will not ever feel this crap.
pros of the CD? production is good, and... well... that's about it.
cons? everything that isn't production. erase the ridiculous ramble that this moron spews at you and you got yourself a great dance CD. Nothing that can be considered remotely lyrical will ever come out of this clown's mouth.
Here's what i don't get.
who told this nobody he's the freestyle king? what kind of contest did he actually enter to gain such a farfetched title? I mean, initially the first thought that came to mind was that he was battling against 1st graders, hence his lyrics are on about the same level, but then i figured even first graders probably school this nobody. Must be why DJ Screw died, he committed a sin and gave the idiot a title he's nowhere near worthy of. If he's an alleged freestyler, where's the proof? i mean, if he actually sat down and thought of the mother goose rhymes that showcase in this album and others before it, god only knows how much worse his freestyle is. The only chance he has in one is against mutes, and its a fair chance, not a sure one. This idiot really has no business being near a studio. This album is proof that no matter what he will ever say, he's retarded and serves no purpose in hip-hop and maybe even among humans.
if you're leaning towards some promising act from the south, look elsewhere such as in T.I.'s discography. Something actually worthwhile. Undaground Legend was EXCEPTIONAL, but still wasn't good. let's just say, that's the only album you'd consider spinning twice. By the way, the reason this is a double-disc and priced the same as regular CD's is because he knows that no one will pay over 20 bucks for his ridiculous, pathetic excuse for music. Let's be honest, most of us don't even want this CD if it was free, much less torturing ourselves by giving it a second listen.
To think i gave this album a chance. All he has is hype and even that will deteriorate, let's just hope its soon enough so we can move on. Its just hype, and he doesn't have anything else. He can commit suicide and the only acknowledgment he'd receive from me is a chuckle. dead serious.
lyrical std.......2007-05-26
Man I can't believe that this is a double disc!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean how much trash do you want to pour on a person at one time? I thought it was going to be too overwhelming for me to diss the whole album but I think I can handle it. This album is wack from the minstrel show cover art, all the way down to the credits in the album cover. Lets run down the list:
beats: wack
lyrics:wack
subject matter: wack
Style and appearance: ultra wack
delivery: wack
Shall I go on?
This album makes feel I took a dump and didn't wipe up. Man it itches.
2nd double disc album from Flip is a good one.......2007-04-10
After almost 3 years since his last studio album and almost a years worth of push backs, Flip finally releases his 4th major label solo album. Like his last one this si also a 2cd set, with 37 songs and almost 2 and a half hrs. of music, so yeah quantity is high, but I also think there is a good amount of good songs on this one. His last double disc was only 21 songs (and only about 14 or 15 were worth it), on this one I think he could have put out a 18-20 song CD worhty of 4.5 stars. Of the 37 songs, 1 classic, 2 are almost classics, 1 I skip, 16 are ok and the other 17 are good songs. Guests are on about half of the songs. Production is good and bad. Synphony does 13 songs, Shorty Pe & Flip do 6, Salaam Remi, Mel Beatz, Z-Ro and Three-6 Mafia all do 2 songs, Attractive Prod. does 4, Carnival beatz, DJ Squeeky, Frank Nitty, Scott Storch, Fyngaz, Manny Fresh, and Russell Rockwell all do 1 song. Though it doesn't match his "Undaground Legend" I think it's equal with "U Gotta Feel Me" and barely worth 4 stars but worth checking out.

A FAN'S review for FANS.......2007-04-04
This is a review for people that LIKE Lil' Flip and have come to know what a Lil' Flip CD is going to contain. Anyone out there thinking they are going to find some 2Pac/BIG/etc... style rhymes and lyrics, then you have not listened to Flip before. Just look at the cover of the CD; he`s holding a stack of money and a huge Clover chain, so it's safe to assume that it's going to be some "bling" rap.
I have an electronic "underground" copy of the original I Need Mine (through Sony I think), but I purchased this CD from Best Buy and it came with 2 bonus tracks (that were to be included as tracks on the initial I Need Mine release), so that's about $12 for right under 40 songs (or $15 here for 37). The only song on here that is missing from the original slated release is "The Gudda," or at least that's the only one I can't find. Most of the songs are the same, and a couple of the songs have varied intros, but they remain pretty much untouched.
As a Lil' Flip album, I loved it. I think I am beginning to like it better than U Gotta Feel Me, but I still like Undaground Legend the best. I liked the original songs I had, and was hoping the new tracks would be just as good and I think for the majority they are. Some of my favorite tracks are:
"Fly Boy"
"Bustaclip"
"Playa 4 Life"
"Starched & Cleaned"
"Get It Crunked"
"What It Do"
"You'z A Trick"
"Warrior"
And so on...
Lyrically, it is typical Flip. Simple styled, slower rhymes, with a few faster ones here and there. To me, I think the lyrics on this album are better/more amusing than U Gotta Feel Me, but it's kind of a toss up. I still prefer the lyric style on Undaground Legend better, but I don't think his style now is bad at all. If you liked U Gotta Feel Me, then chances are you'll like this. I also love the beats. I know the argument is out there that slams the idea of liking a rap song for the beat over lyrics, but I don't support that. I think just like a rock song, sometimes the guitar/drum/etc parts make the song and are more memorable than the lyrics. I think most of the songs are great driving/working out/etc songs, and while not the most thought provoking, if you're a Flip fan, you know what you're getting when you buy the CD. Which leaves one last point...
I don't get the negative reviews from people that are complaining that it's the same old simple rhymes/beats. If you're familiar with his work (as most of the negative reviews seem to be) or some of the other Houston rappers, what were you expecting? All Eyez On Me? Illmatic? The Chronic? I guess it's just a matter of taste, but I think his lyrics/beats fit his style just fine. Maybe that's just me...
...Bottom line: You like Flip? It's safe to say you'll enjoy "I Need Mine." You don't like Flip? This album probably won't make you a fan.
Flip, Quit Releasing Your Outtakes {1 ½ Stars}.......2007-04-04
I can't remember the last time Flip dropped an album that wasn't a certified drink coaster. If Crime Knob didn't exist, this would EASILY be the worst rap release of 2007. You know something is wrong when I Mike Jones makes more than one appearance. Thank god I DJ and get albums like this for free. I mean, how can you listen to the rhymes on songs like "White Cup" or "Warrior" and call this a hot album? And even if you bought this for the beats, you have to admit that joints like "Play 4 Life", "Family Tradition", and "Hustle" are as wack as wack gets. This isn't even a hard album. I know some of you clowns try to hide behind that "hard" thing when you call this a classic, but he's afraid to mention TI's name on "Bustaclip" and he sampled Heavy D's "Nuthin' But Love" on "Flippin" -- yeah, that's real gangsta right there. The most ironic point of the album is when Flip unintentionally describes himself as what's wrong with hip hop on "Real Hip Hop". Flip is a clown and if you think this is hard, tight, or whatever, then you're either a minor or you need to ease up on the codeine/promethazine (look it up) & Sprite and clean your ears out.
There are maybe one or two tracks on both discs each that aren't absolutely terrible. "What It Do" features Mannie Fresh on the beat (the best beat on the whole album). "3,2,1, Go" has Three 6 Mafia on it and I'm a fan, so I dig that one. "Ghetto Mindstate (Can't Get Away)" stinks lyrically, but Lyfe Jennings provides a decent hook and "Addicted (Mary Jane)" has a decent beat. But nothing on the album stands out...not even the songs listed in this paragraph.
I Need Mine $$ is a godawful release from one of the worst acts to come out of the south. The lyrics are elementary and the songs are about the same thing every "thug of the week" is rapping about. You can only spin that so many ways and Flip isn't even trying to spin it anymore. He's just plain lazy. On a seperate note, could someone PLEASE explain to me what makes him the freestyle king? I'd imagine he'd have to be freestyling on every song he makes because I can't imagine anyone sitting down and putting thought into writing lyrics like these. I recommend siiting your drinks on this overpriced drink coaster. Don't even download it -- it's that bad.

5 Star Album Without A Doubt.......2006-04-09
Without a doubt this is a 5 star album, lil flip absolutely put it down on this album and although he didnt really get noticed until the gameover song or whatever this cd really was the blow up of lil flip and put him on the map. In my opinion this is one of the best albums of all time, period. Maybe not the best, but definately one of tops. Every song is really good and none are really skip through tracks, but...

In terms of his status as an Undaground Legend, it's "Game Over" for Lil' Flip. Longtime fans of the Texas freestyle king won't find much to love about his third major-label solo release, which seems geared towards the ever-expanding "commercial rap" market. Presented as a two-CD affair but in actuality only minutes longer than a single disc, Feel Me suffers from the usual flaws: played out subject matter (Flip and friends cock glocks and sling rocks ad nauseum), generically "hot" beats (c'mon, more slowed vocal samples from the Heatmakerz?), and guest appearances that smack of arranged marriages. That said, there's just enough talent shown here to make up for the filler: listeners will definitely be feeling the two tracks featuring David Banner while Red Spyda's production provides "Check (Let's Ride)" with an unexpectedly funky roots-reggae-meets-Southern-bounce sound. --Rebecca Levine

Do yourself a favor...STAY AWAY........2006-09-21
Let's start with the title of this album, "U Gotta Feel Me," which is clearly false advertising. Trust me, you do NOT "gotta feel" Lil' Flip. There are many far more productive and entertaining things to do with your time. I would recommend feeling him as little as possible, if this is the kind of music he puts out.
This is honestly one of the worst rap albums around. I can't explain in words how fake and unconvincing the music is; let's just say that "U Gotta Feel Me" is lame. It is the lamest of the lame. Why doesn't Lil' Flip just start hanging with D4L, the way he's going? He might as well. Then we'd all know better than to buy any more of his music.
This guy's lyrics make 50 Cent look original. The vast majority of the album is complete filler, and it doesn't even serve THAT purpose well. "Game Over" and "Sunshine" are worth a listen or two; the rest of it gives the rap genre a bad name. This guy may have been an underground legend, but he totally fell off and landed flat on his face with this album.

Somebody Pleaseeee Call Lil Flip!!!!.......2006-06-05
I finally figured out why Lil Flip is getting hated on and roasted by most down south artist today. He's not Lil Flip. He probably had about 4 funny punchlines on this whole album compared to 150 on Undaground Legend. Flip built his carrer and fan base on funny punchlines and straight snappin. I dont know if he tryin to prove that he's really hard or whatever but the style he's using now is just not him. TI knows that. Lil Flip will NEVER beat him on reality rap because thats not his style. If he stuck to the funny punchlines then people would be split down the middle as to who was the best. Classic Biggie and Tupac argument. Neither was better because the styles didnt compare regardless of whut anybody says. Somebody tell Flip to get back to being Flip.
Not Underground Legend, Thats for sure.......2006-04-09
Well like the title says, this album is no where near Underground Legend, but still is a decent album with a few good songs on it. Id have to agree that it seems like flip went a little mainstream and commercial on this album, but flip is still an all time favorite of mine. His new album is set to release in May and im hoping that its better than this, but this album is still worth listening to, just not what i had expected when i bought it. overall 3 stars

Good album but cmon Paid in full..........2006-01-01
I liked the album. In fact I bought this thinking it was the same stuff that was supposed to come out in 2002 after "GYMC". Little did I know that it was lego'd by Mista madd and cat themselves. They are still trying to make money off of artists that aren't even on their label anymore. I mean cmon gimme a break. All that aside, I like the cuts that Chamill did, or the cuts they pieced off him. How ever "fake" this album may be, it still had alot of fire from Chamill's verses.
Paid N Partial is Pasting in Partial.......2005-11-30
1 word, BOOTLEG. yea no doubt it is 100% koopa and paul wall but koopa didn't get paid for this album paid in partial still had songs that were koopa's before he left and put em out and pasted em on beats as a last attempt to make money of the messiah. So if u wanna hear somethin from Koopa go head n bootleg this cd, don't give phonies like paid in partial records money.
Please Dont Press Purchase.......2005-11-06
Listen..... You hear it?????? Thats the sound of a horrible record.. Dont get me wrong Koopa is the King but this album which I will admitt to bootlegging cause it doesent deserve a half a penny... Folks this album is worse than Milli Vanillis greatest hits.. Its thrown together with half verses from Chamillionaire and half verses from Paul Wall.. The only good songs are jacked... You can purchase these good songs in the "REAL" by getting Chamillitary and Mixtape Messiah... Mad Hatta and Big Cat are lames and I cant believe they realesed this phoney album... Paid in Partial records is all garbage and this album should be removed from this web site immediatly.. Any real Chamillionaire fan should be digusted by this Album which has no respect for The Game... This is as fake as Lil Kims breasts and face... I personally would rather listen to a Elton John album before i Bump This Garbage....... Dyke Jones Phoney
WTF?.......2005-10-11
Don't listen to the other reviews, fresh from one of the swisha house veterans and southern masters comes Controversy Sells. THIS IS NOT 50 CENT AND FRED DURST, THIS IS DJ PAUL WALL & CHAMILLIONAIRE SORT UR FACT OUTS!... With songs like "True" and "Still" this just shows the masters at their best, no-one has changed their voice, no-one has changed their name, this is 100% Chamillionaire/King Koopa & DJ Paul Wall.
Pasted vocals under different beats.......2005-07-26
This is not a very well put together cd. Chamillionaire left Paid in Fool records before completing this album. So the DJ's and CEO of PNF pasted all of Chamillionaires lyrics from "Mixtape Messiah" on some of their beats to complete the album. This record doesn't have the same mesh from Paul Wall and Chamillionaire you heard on "Get Ya Mind Correct." I got this cd thinking it was Chamillionaire's first solo album he had been promoting, but it was a cd PNF dropped using Chamillionaire's title. His first album has been switched to the title "The Sound of Revenge." PNF was dissing Chamillionaire on a couple of tracks, I found this odd considering they were droppin his album; but Chamillionaire cleared up everything on the cd entitled "Chamillitary." This cd was defintately an upset, the whole logic behind the cd is rediculous. Although there are a 2 good origional tracks, "Respect my Grind" and "True," I wouldn't recommend this cd if you heard "The Mixtape Messiah" album.

Nicknamed the Freestyle King, Flip as a teen initially won the attention of the immortalized DJ Screw, who ushered the rapper into his loose-knit Screwed Up Click. The affiliation brought instant respect for Flip throughout Texas as well as the greater South. Not too long after, Universal Records caught on and debuted his major release double-disc set U Gotta Feel Me. With street credibility and major success, Flip is back in the independent scene to conquer the mixtape game.
