Scorpions, Return to form.......2007-07-08
What can I say. This CD got me to clean my apartment when my AC was busted and it was 85 degrees in here. It's not LAFS or Blackout but it is a more mature Scorpions with lots of hooks and great harmonies. I have quite a few of the songs from this CD stuck in my head. Worth every cent even if you have to buy it as an import. ENJOY....
Adult Contemporary Scorpions???.......2007-07-06
Wow, I was excited for this new release because their last one, Unbreakable, was a real return to form---had all the rocking power, drama and fun of their 1980's heyday, with enough of a modern edge and production to still sound relevant. So now I have Humanity - Hour 1 and have spun it 5 or 6 times and . . . hmmmh? I can honestly say that individually I pretty much like all the songs, a few are real standouts, but I have to ask---WHERE'S THE STING???
The delivery here is so laid back and almost tranquil; virtually all the songs are mid-tempo to power-ballad to ballad. "Hour 1", "3-2-1" and "The Cross" are pretty much the only tracks have any discernible hard-rocking edge (I can't even use the term metal) and unfortunately they are not among the album's strongest songs. And I'm not one of those fans that has to hear super-fast or pulverizing songs to consider something good but, while individually good, taken together these songs are a bit of a snooze-fest, and that's so unlike the Scorpions. It's strange, there's distorted guitars, some nice solos, and Klause's voice amazingly still soars with the best of them, but there is precious little real tension and power generated in many of the songs. Overall it's got a very AOR or, dare I say, adult contemporary feel!
Spin this CD, or even the 1st 3 or 4 tracks, and then spin the 1st 3 or 4 tracks on Unbreakable and I guarantee the difference will jump out at you. Perhaps it is the collaboration with Desmond Child and others that makes the difference? I don't have a problem with the collaboration or with them going for a more contemporary, radio friendly sound---the Scorps have been a commercially oriented band since the start of the 1980's. But from these guys who still who still put on one of the most electric and intense live performances of any band around, I guess I just expect at least a good bit of any album of theirs to rock a little harder than this. In fact, some of the songs on Humanity - Hour 1, if arranged or delivered slightly differently, could have had a much more powerful impact; so I can only guess they were really aiming for a much more sedate, truly pop rock vibe on this one.
Bottom line: individually the songs are all good to very good (and I can't say that about Unbreakable---which has a few clunkers---though I would have to rate that album higher on overall impact). Listening to this CD straight through leaves me wishing for more . . . get's a bit repetitous with virtually all the songs in that slow-to-middling, just too relaxed vibe.
Despite some disappointment with Humanity - Hour 1, I can't wait to see Scorpions live again when they come around to support it. With talk of their career winding down, it would be great to see them put together an album combining the consistent songwriting of this one with the power and energy of Unbreakable before they hang it up.
A Pretty Good Concept.......2007-07-03
Actually, more like 4.5 stars! I will have to admit that I was a little apprehensive when I learned that the newest Scorps. release was a concept album. However, I have been pleasantly surprised from what I have heard. When I think of concept albums, I think of Queensryche's Operation Mindcrime or Kiss' The Elder. While both good albums, I think that style has been "played." What I am glad to report is that the songs on this CD "stand alone!" It actually reminds me more of Queensryche's Empire CD, in that regard. Some of my favorites include "Game Of Life," "You're Lovin' Me To Death," "321" and "Love Will Keep Us Alive." I have no problem with the ballads as Klaus' voice sounds crisp and clear. "We Were Born To Fly" reminds me a little of "Wind Of Change" (although certainly not as good) "Humanity" is a great way to end the album with the intro. somewhat similar to "Still Loving You." This is my 5th favorite Scorps. album of all time behind Love At First Sting, Lovedrive, Taken By Force and Blackout. A little concerned also when I saw that the 80's hitmaker for Kiss and Bon Jovi (Desmond Child) co-wrote and produced the CD. However, he did so with what I would consider "admirable restraint!" My favorite rock CD this year!
Surprisingly Good.......2007-07-03
Who says that Rock'N'Roll is a young man's game? The boys (ok,old men)are back and sound as good as ever.I know we may never hear "No one like You","Bad Boys Running Wild",or "Rock you like a Hurricane" again, but if you haven't listened to the Scorps in a while, give this one a spin.Of all the bands from the "80's",this is probably the strongest release in the past few years, except maybe for "Into the Now" from Tesla. If you were into the Scorpions back then,or (if you are younger),and if you would like to discover real R'N'R,you could do a lot worse than this one.Enjoy.
Not what I expected..........2007-07-02
I've been a fan since the Love at First Sting album was released over 20 years ago and ever since the Scorps have released solid albums. Some of them are perhaps a little underrated (Savage Amusement) and some have had been a little different (Eye II Eye). With the release of Unbreakable (another underrated album) I though the Scorps have returned with a vengeance. Unfortunately, with Humanity Hour-1 Im not sure I can say that. This album has a lot of slow songs that are really forgetable (in comparison to Holiday, Wind of Change or Still Loving you)some that are catchy, but the heavy edge of dueling guitars of Jabs and Schenker are almost non existent. In the past most of the music and lyrics have been composed and written by Klaus Meine and Rudolf Schenker, on this album the influence of Desmond Child and James Michael and several other contributors who are trying to make this album into pop 40 are confusing and the results are subpar. If anything this album really shows how great the "Unbreakable" was, even though some of the fans may disagree with me. While I'm disappointed with this release I will definitely see them in concert in southern cal...

A second straight solid album from the German rockers.......2007-06-20
The Scorpions' latest release "Humanity: Hour I" is a collection of thoughtful rock anthems that revolve around the theme that mankind as a whole is losing its' humanity and needs to reclaim it. The Scorpions are not the first band to have a somber, "the end is near" mood encompass an entire album (see Ozzy Osbourne's "Ultimate Sin") but they do a good job of putting together some good, nice-to-listen-to, songs while at the same making the listener stop and think for a bit.
What's encouraging here from a musical perspective is that the Scorpions have now released a second solid studio album in a row (following "Unbreakable") and do not appear to look like an aging band whose act is tiring out. On the contrary, it looks like they got a lot more rockin' to do. And for us Scorpions fans, that is, indeed, good news.
Scorps Still Stinging!.......2007-06-14
It's true, rock fans - Scorpions have created THE rock album of the year and one of the best in their long history. From the opening riff of Hour 1, it's clear that Germany's greatest rock band has come to rock you like only they can. The group has teamed with songwriter/producer par excellence Desmond Child in a calculated effort to update their sound, while retaining all of the classic Scorpions sting. The record has a loose concept forewarning of a future where man will be pitted against intelligent robots of his own making. Granted, it's not a new theme by any stretch, but it's the songs that really matter and the band delivers in spades with several of the heaviest tracks they've ever recorded and some very fine ballads that stand up to anything in their catalog. This record also sees a marked increase in the amazing lead guitar work of Mathias Jabs, one of the great metal players of the last 20 (almost 30!) years. He shreds up a storm on tracks like "We Were Born To Fly" and the super-heavy "We Will Rise Again". Singer Klaus Meine has also delivered perhaps his most incredible performance to date. At 59, it's apparent that this vocalist of vocalists is still improving, making his well-documented vocal problems (nodes, total voice loss, two surgeries, therapy, etc.) of the early 80s a distant memory. While Meine can still wail with the best, he also employs the lower register of his range to great effect, as evident on "Love Is War". Throughout the disc, his harmonies are more spellbindingly gorgeous than ever, provoking chills on "The Future Never Dies" and "Love Will Keep Us Alive". The writing chores seem to have been split evenly between the three principals, Rudolf Schenker, Meine and Jabs with help from Child and the versatile Marti Frederiksen (who collaborated with particularly fine results with Jonny Lang on Lang's "Long Time Coming" disc from 2003). This is Jabs' largest contribution to the writing of a Scorpions record since he replaced the legendary Uli Roth in 1979. If you include the Limited Edition bonus track, "Cold", Jabs boasts 5 credits to Schenker and Meine's 4 each. The amazing thing is that every track is uniquely a Scorpions song in every way, with just the right balance of classic and modern. No doubt this CD will do well in Europe, where the band is still big, especially in Russia and surrounding countries, where they're the near-equivalent of The Beatles in their prime of popularity in the West. Album closer, "Humanity" has world-wide smash written all over it and it won't be surprising to see it repeat the global success of "Wind of Change" in 1990. This is a band who has found their stride yet again with a lyrically and musically mature record packed with all of the hallmarks that have made Scorpions one of the biggest selling rock acts in the world. If you like real guitar-driven rock music with substance and more hooks than a tackle shop, BUY THIS CD!!!
Best Scorpions album since Love at First Sting. Really!.......2007-06-14
This album rocks! The Scorpions have put a solid effort into this album. The production, the sound, tone of the guitars as well as the guitar playing is outstanding. Hour 1 and 321 are excellent tracks. It reminded me of their earlier work which brought them to superstardom in the early 80's. This does not mean that the songs are dated or anything. They have the Scorpions sound and feel, but mature. The funny thing is, we have twin daughters 2.5 years old. I put on 321 and then asked them if they wanted to ROCK? We had 5 encores of 321. My wife thinks the Scorpions are soooo 80's, but thought the album was very well made. Anyway I would recommend this album to anyone who wants to own a great rock album.
The Scorpions have really regained their sting.......2007-06-12
I'm very impressed with this album. It's by far one of the best Scorpions album. I thought it was great how they teamed up with American producer Desmond Child to create this masterpiece. Desmond's work has really shown off here. This is no rehash of Scorpions faves, this is a real NEW album. Different sound for the Scorpions. Modern rock+Classic rock. That's how it sounds. I recommend this to any music fan. It's a shame it's not released domestically here in the US, though, that way the Scorpions' record sales with rocket.

Customer Reviews:
Are you serious?.......2007-07-10
Unless you are a DIE HARD collector, do not buy this. Both tracks are on part 2 (which is a halo, and which in no way does the disc or case mention being a "part" of any set) as well as an additional remix track. Comes with the video and a rather nice looking case. If you buy part 1, leave it in the plastic and forget you have it for about 5 years.
A rip-off.......2007-06-24
As die hard Nine Inch Nails fans no doubt know, collecting "Halos" comes with the territory. However, out of all the single releases carrying the Halo label to be released, none has ever been as much as a rip-off as "Survivalism, Part 1". Featuring the "Year Zero" album version as well as the Tardusted Remix (which actually may be better than the normal track), "Survivalism" as a whole isn't a bad song one bit, and this rating does not reflect the song itself. Besides the two versions of the song, there is nothing else included on this disc at all. That's right, and remember, there is also a "Survivalism, Part 2" that features all of the above plus more, so if you haven't gotten the drift yet, you are getting ripped off. As a previous reviewer already mentioned, no matter how much of a die hard Nine Inch Nails fan or Halo collector you might be, do not pick this disc up. Pick up "Survivalism, Part 2" instead if you must, and leave this disc on the shelf.
No reason for fans to buy this.......2007-06-16
"Survivalism" (Halo 23) has been released in two parts. Both part I and II contain "Survivalism" the album version and "Survivalism--the tardusted remix."
Even if you are a massive NIN fan and must collect every Halo, there is no reason to buy part I, as part II also contains an instrumental version of "The Greater Good" and a video of "Survivalism." I want to be clear that I am not rating the actual song "Survivalism" one star, as it is quite strong (even if it isn't the best song off "Year Zero.") Rather, I am rating the value of this single at one star because there is no reason for anyone to own it as part II contains the same content as part one as well as another track and a video.
Even if you are an absolute NIN junkie-obsessive and must own parts I and II for the sake of owning both parts in a NIN Halo, you needn't worry about that. On neither part I or part II of "Survivalism" is there any reference to either being part I or II. So you can buy what is labeled as "Part II" and still own a complete Halo collection if that's what you're aiming for.
Trent Reznor has made it clear that he disapproves of the label marketing the same song in two parts, as he realizes it is a rip-off to his fans. That said, if you are a Halo collector and must own a complete collection, stick with what is labeled as "part II."
The Warning..........2007-05-15
Trent used to release the best CD singles. By far. No one else even came close. Remember how cool the CD singles for 'Closer' and 'March of the Pigs' were? The Fragile and The Downward Spiral each had their own "album" of remixes. The content was always wholly original, and always an interesting reinterpretation of the song -- never just a slight variation. Then came the last CD single from With Teeth, Every Day Is Exactly The Same. More than half the content was previously released on the previous CD singles. A definite downgrade from past releases.
Now comes Survivalism pt. I and II. Between BOTH these discs, there is ONE original remix, and ONE instrumental that is otherwise identical to the album track. On top of that, pt. II has all the content pt. I, i.e.: pt. I has no reason to exist.
Trent's singles ain't what they used to be, and buyer beware because word is that 'Capital G' (the next single to be released) is going to get the same "pt. I and pt. II, but pt. I is pointless" treatment as this.
C'mon Trent, you're better than this...
All a Part of This Great Nation..........2007-05-13
Trent's new single from Year Zero is definitely a good one. Unfortunately there's only one other version of the song on here but in my humble opinion it is better than the originonal. If you want a buy worth the money, go for Survivalism, Pt. 2. That one has the video and one other version of the song for less money. An even better deal is Year Zero.

Being DJ myself years back. I find this collection of the 12" versions one of the best collections I've seen in many years. The quality of the sound was great plus the selections of songs were just great. I was so impress with volume one that I have bought volumes 2 and 3. Thank you Mr. Liebrand for bringing these collections they are great.

For crying out loud, now there is positively no excuse for continued complaints from dance disco buffs about shortened material music available on CD compilations. With continued support to dream makers who put this package together we can expect the best of dance music yet to come. The first volume is killer stuff and sounds OH so good.
The search is over, WOW!!!.......2006-06-14
One of the best collections ever! Thank you Mr. Liebrand for taking the time to put all of this wonderful songs together. Especially for including Patrick Cowley's remix of "I feel love", Moroder's disco-trance masterpiece. Patrick Cowley was able to perfect perfection by adding the high energy of his keyboards to the hypnotic rhythm creating the crowning jewel of all dance floors around the world! All the other songs are great, but I would have pay the money just for that one alone. Long life for all of them whom keep on bringing back those treasures from the past!!!

A Great Entrance for Another U2 Era...........2007-05-10
What a wonderful little treat from those Irish boys. This single is taken from the album U218 Singles. "Windows in the Skies" being the second single from that album, while "The Saints are Coming" was the first. Now this CD only features two tracks, which is a slight disappointment. I can recall when CD singles had at least 3 to 4 songs, in the old days.
Windows in the Skies: This is a jovial and up beat song. It is a beautiful arrangement of melodies and vocals, a very catchy tune with wonderful lyrics. I had heard this song had a Beatles feel to it. I didn't know what that meant until I actually heard "Windows in the Skies"; once I did I can see why the comparison was made. This song is very different from anything on "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb." I really hope this is the direction U2 will be taking with their new material. However, I thought they would be going in a certain direction when they recorded "The Ground Beneath Her Feet" (featured on the Million Dollar Hotel soundtrack) and they didn't. I also thought they would take a new approach with "Electrical Storm" (featured on the Best of U2: 1990-2000) yet again they didn't.
Tower of Song: This song is from the film "I am Your Man". The lead vocals are by Leonard Cohen. I have to be honest, the only song I ever knew by Cohen was "Coming Back to You", and I had only heard covers of it (for instance Martin L. Gore's version). So this is my first time really hearing his voice. I have to say the first time I heard "Tower of Song", I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. Cohen's voice is coarse and a bit abrasive. It appears that he is talking more than singing. However after a few listens, I really began to like it. The music is amazing; of course U2 is playing, the music is mellow and hypotonic. In the latter part of the song, Bono jumps in to sing a couple of lines. This is cool, but I almost think his lyrics and vocals could have been omitted and it wouldn't have affected the quality of the song. Mainly because Cohen does such a good job. I know that this is a reasonable charges for heresy, saying that Bono was needed. Don't worry, still much love for Bono.
Overall nice little package. Just a side note, it is always strange when a band records songs in between albums, it might be an indication of what is to come or it isn't. So I am not sure if these two songs are foreshadowing the future of U2 or just more musical experimenting. Either way I am sure my ears will be pleased.

Great Single and Great Collaboration with Leonard Cohen.......2007-01-27
Veteran rockers and humanitarians U2 return with a single that is bold in its determination to focus on the light in these darkened times. A plea and a reflection, they ask us to see what love has done to individuals and to nations, in effect, allowing us to survive and work always to enhance its scope and power.
The collaboration with Canadian Leonard Cohen is exciting as well, demonstrating Cohen's power as a vocalist and wordsmith and the Edge's masterful, I dare say genius, use of the guitar to transport listeners to sonic spaces replete with all the colors of the emotional rainbow.
Just between us, this little two-song set is what the people who live in France refer to as a tour de force.
WORTH IT FOR THE B-SIDE ALONE!.......2007-01-21
Don't get me wrong - "Skies" is a satisfying and ebullient U2 track, but the Leonard Cohen collaboration, "Tower Of Song," is the real attraction here. Cohen's lyrics and delivery are gritty, poetic, and spine-tingling; and Edge's guitar/synth/backing vocal concoction is above-and-beyond. Bono only sings a single, if memorable, verse, but in this rare case it works that he took a back seat - Cohen is incomprable on this song!
"Tower" has officially turned me on to Cohen (whom I only know a few great songs by), and makes me want to check out the tribute film ("I'm Your Man") it originally appeared on. This is one of U2's best singles in years.

The best SHAKI single YET.......2007-05-11
not only is this a great song, but it is not included in the spanish version of this double album....and the spanish version of the song is on this single as well as my favorite version of it (boom-ba) which is afro-centric! it's a must have if you like this song and shakira!
rip off!.......2007-01-09
I ordered this and figured for $14 it would be a good deal (as you would normally get on amazon). Well there are only 2 songs! It is basically a cd single with a flip side for $14! don't get it! go to best buy for the whole cd for maybe $18. This is not worth it. But with the free shipping I had, if I send it back, I pay for shipping. they basically have you there. highly recommend you get something else.
Shakira - her hips truly do not lie.......2007-01-05
This CD only contains two songs, but it is definitely worth it. Turn up the volume, and shake your car's windows out of their rails.

Just One Word: WOW!!!!!.......2006-07-24
I've always adored Shakira for the boisterousness and vociferousness that she imports into her music. Be it "Whenever Wherever" or "La Tortura",her music combined with appealing lyrics have always sent a thrill of pleasure and liveliness down my feet and her latest sensational single,"Hips Don't Lie",released from the new album "Oral Fixation Vol.2" and featuring Wyclef Jean is no exception. Shakira lets loose her vibrant music and is so charming in her tone and rhythm. Shakira has really come a long way in becoming a real Latin pop diva and the Colombian singer is surely a big thing in the pop music industry. She looks so killing and sensuous in the video of the song too. "Hips Don't Lie" is another jewel for any pop music lover's treasure closet.
Fantastic song; just learned it was remake though.......2006-07-19
I do not like pop music for the most part (rock and metal are my forte). Yet I find this song to be one of the catchiest (in a good way) I've heard since the stuff on "Thriller".
Now I just found it it's a damn remake. I really wanted to give it up to Shakira, normally reserved to a type of music I find relatively weak and emotionless, but that remake knowledge took away some of the magic of this otherwise outstanding song.

Customer Reviews:
A Moving Collection of B-Sides.......2006-03-01
With this album, Incubus was able to portray themselves far better than in any of there blown out productions. Though the tracklist may be short, Incubus is able to give you acoustic renditions of their hits that are comparable if not superior in feel to the originals. It made me wonder which songs were written on an acoustic guitar before ever presented to the band in it's entirety.
Interesting Incubus.......2005-09-25
If you're new to Incubus, don't buy this. Get "S.C.I.E.N.C.E." or "Morning View." If you're a fan, buying this isn't a bad idea. It's hard to find anywhere besides the internet, and it has pretty good acoustic versions of some of their more famous songs. It also has a song on it called "Crowded Room" that you can only find on this and the Scream 3 soundtrack or something. There's also a hidden track about getting high that I don't think you can find anywhere else. Overall, I'd recommend it, but only to seasoned Incubus fans.
When Incubus Attack, Vol. 1.......2005-09-09
This CD has some really great versions of the songs. The acoustic version of "Make Yourself" makes you apreciate that song so much more, and "Crowded Elevator" is a sweet extra track that you just want to listen to again and again.
Fantastic!.......2005-05-09
Strangely enough, this was the first Incubus disc I ever purchased. It was late summer and the EP had just come out and I was working at Hot Topic and our manager played it all the time. It was infectious, catchy and emotional, without being sappy. It was a pleasure to hear a vocalist so heavily influenced by Mike Patton making music and not noise.
Brandon Boyd is and should be the focus of this album. His strong baritone rings clear over the acoustic guitar and gives each song a new identity in its new format. When I finally heard the album "Make Yourself" I was blown away by how unique each song had become when translated to the acoustic version.
This album is a must own for any true Incubus fan, no exceptions. The live tracks are killer (_Favorite Things_ live is wicked) and the b-side _Crowded Elevator_ is an excellent song as well with "Make Yourself" elements but really, the mea of the album are this great acoustic tracks recorded in studio. Get it while you can because I believe that it is OOP!
Stellar is a huge understatement........2005-01-28
This EP was extraordinary in it's own right in many ways. With the vocal talents of Boyd as the front man and the melodious acoustic guitar riffs of Einziger, the CD is wonderful from start to finish with nothing to complain about. The acoustic versions of Stellar, Make Yourself, and Pardon Me were simply amazing and a very refreshing change of pace but still on a very happy Incubus medium. The live versions of Favorite Things and Make Yourself showed the true talent of Incubus and how they can perform live just the same way they can in the studio. Finally, the unreleased track Crowded Elevator is most likely one of the best Incubus songs recorded and show them in their element doing what they do best..perfecting music on song at a time.

Customer Reviews:
Essential collection.......2004-09-17
Bruno Walter. Mahler's disciple and protégé. His reputation as a Mahler conductor is unmatched (though Klemperer and Mengelberg come close). This set contains nothing but essential Walter CBS recordings, even if it is a pity that the set, as such, is incomplete. First, Walter's very fine CBS account of Das Lied von der Erde is excluded. Second, his outstanding mono take of the first symphony with NYPO, for CBS, is missing.
What we have here are nonetheless recordings that belong in every Mahlerite collection. It is good to have them all in a set - for saving money, for example. And it is nowadays almost impossible to find the present performance of ninth symphony as a single set (blame SONY for their policy).
Some comments:
Symphony 1 & 2: outstanding early stereo takes (no. 1, rec. 1961, no. 2, rec. 1958) with classic, warm interpretations that leave very little to wish.
Symphony 4 & 5: two mono takes (rec. 1946), but indeed essential even for hifi enthusiasts. Clearly among the very best and classic performances of these works.
Symphony 9: Walter made the first live recording of this symphony in 1938 (available on EMI or Naxos). But this is the first stereo recording of the ninth (rec. 1961). The interpretation is second to none.

Sheer class.......2003-11-13
Back in the seventies, I learned the hard way that you never lend out your Jack albums. While I will never see some of that vinyl again, I welcome the chance to catch up on that and more with the hopefully ever-increasing CD back catalog.
There was something almost mystical about Jack's earlier recordings, and if I had to pick out one album that I would consider my favorite, it would be There's Love... which gave us the Jack anthem And I Love Her.
I know we're all going to disagree over his 'best' work, but with an artist of his caliber, you can only really talk about your favorite albums - another classic being Sings Michel Legrand.
Last I heard the man is still going strong, and still doing sold-out world tours, and from the last recent photo I saw, he's still outrageously handsome, dang it.
A superb double Jack set and from the look of Amazon's excellent database, one of several paired sets. Now I just have to catch up on the rest.
Brilliant.
A WONDERFUL "TWO-FER" BY JACK JONES!.......2002-08-15
This coupling of two of Jack's best albums offers the music lover immeasurable nostalgia, enjoyment and collectability all in one great CD. The first half of this CD latches on to the (then) recent bossa-nova craze and takes a handful of standards and lets Jack 'bossa-nova' his way through them. It's inspiring the way the arrangements sound so tailor made to old chestnuts like THE LAMP IS LOW, the underappreciated Hoagy Carmichael-penned torch song I GET ALONG WITHOUT YOU VERY WELL and the recent broadway hits of the 60's SHE LOVES ME and ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TRACKS. But the real beauty here is the second half of this CD, the album THERE'S LOVE AND THERE'S LOVE, the charts contributed by Nelson Riddle (the only time he and Jack had the opportunity to work together) Nelson's work with Jack is much like any other work he's done with any other singer - flawless. A Riddle chart always got the best out of the singer, and this is more than evident as Nels and Jack put their indelible stamp on the Beatles' classic ballad, AND I LOVE HER. Other geniune treasures to be found are the old Al Jolson standard, YOU MADE ME LOVE YOU and the lilting WHILE WE'RE YOUNG. You'll find the title track with its lyric from the able hands of Sammy Cahn, THERE'S LOVE AND THERE'S LOVE a cute tune that may border on commercial, but it never comes off that way with Jack's tender reading and Nelson's thoughful chart behind him. A really wonderful "two-fer" to have in your collection!
Incredible Singing!.......2000-04-28
These two Jack Jones albums on the Kapp label from the mid '60's are long overdue on cd! The first album "She Loves Me" features songs with a latin beat, done superbly by Jones. The second album "There's Love & There's Love & There's Love" is a classic, which features the only time that Jack collaborated with the great legendary arranger Nelson Riddle. The songs are sung beautifully and smoothly by Jones, and the arrangements are incredibly lush. The album is an absolute classic. This cd is a must have for any Jack Jones fan and fan of the great popular standards!
Incredible Singing!.......2000-04-27
These two albums by Jack Jones from the mid '60's are a perfect example of what makes Jack Jones so great! "She Loves Me" features songs with a latin beat, done superbly by Jones. "There's Love & There's Love & There's Love" is a classic album featuring the only time that Jack collaborated with the great and legendary arranger Nelson Riddle. The songs are romantic and lush, the singing is silky smooth and top notch. The arrangements are unbelieveable. This cd is a definite must have for any Jack Jones fan!
Two Master Disks from a Vocal Master on 1 CD: Big Deal!.......1999-10-28
Incredible but MCA United Kingdom has done a better work on Jack Jones' Kapp originals than MCA America has. An entire album with arrangements by Nelson Riddle would be enough to enchant our hearts. So imagine one more excellent album in the same CD package.
