Experimental guitarist and composer Scott Fields makes his Delmark debut with a recording of five original compositions inspired by the work of playwright David Mamet. I absolutely love Bob Mamet's album "Adventures in Jazz". What a brilliant artist Mr. Mamet is!!!!! I wish he was still making albums. I would buy up every album he ever did. If there is a fan club for him I would definitely join. I wish I could talk to or converse IM with him to talk jazz. He should do concerts with other jazz artists. There is an audience of jazz lovers out there that would enjoy such concerts.

Despite all extatic reviews, I will say that this CD is annoying. It would be much better without repetitive sax solo-why it has to sound the same on all tracks? Same for piano-3 notes played over and over and over....Without piano and sax it would be 4 stars, but sorry, if you pay attention and have good musical memory, you won't be enjoying this CD.

I first heard one of these songs on a local radio station and drove around aimlessly until the song ended, hoping they would say who the artist was. When I ordered the album from Amazon, it immediately went into my stereo on "repeat." This album is amazing!

I bought this CD after hearing Greenstreet on the radio. It along with Morningside, Neptune, Riff In Fifths, and Calabay are my favorites. If parts of this CD sound a bit like Brian Culbertson it's because he helped produce several of the songs. Bob is a decent keyboard player and can really jazz it up when he wants to. He also gets help on this recording from Gerald Albright and Art Porter on sax. This is very smooth jazz!!! Thanks Bob!!

With a little help of established artists, Bob Mamet records a memorable CD. Highlights of the CD are "Looking Back" and "Greenstreet". Very memorable tunes that are worth buying.

Well Bob Mamet is at it again.Greenstreet is really cool.Morningside is nice as well.My favorite song on this recording is Neptune.The rest should speak for it's self!

I was never much of a jazz fan until I came upon Bob Mamet's Day Into Night. Great music! When I want to relax...I pop it in and the problems of the day seem to fade away.

I love Signs of Life. This is one of the most unique Contemporary Jazz albums I've heard. I love the blend of Bob's piano and Larry Carlton's electric guitar on Three Sides, Signs of Life, and Riverside Anthem. I like the energy of it, and I highly recommend it!
