Matt Otto plays a mellow sax, and I love Matt's politics (read the jacket). Let's hope more alblums are in the works. I listen to this alblum every day! I just bet Matt Otto is trained in Buddhism...the music fits. Way to go Matt! Where can he be seen live?

Since Matt Otto left California for New York, I have missed hearing him. This cd is wonderful. I hope more are on the way.

I heard this musician play while he was growing up in Orange County, but after he moved to New York City, I did not have the chance to hear him as often. However, I was able to order this album at Borders Books and Music and was absolutely delighted with it. Rumor has it he's working on a second album. I can't wait!

The mellow mood of this album is initiated by the beautiful 'Forbess', a song that has an almost hypnotic rhythm to it that draws the listener in. Otto's saxophone harmonises beautifully with his excellent supporting band throughout the album. This collection oozes a relaxing mood and is suitable for all, from the jazz novice to the enthusiast. Hoping for another album sometime next year, keep up the good work.

The creative and original arrangements and the ability of the musicians to blend with each other makes for very a enjoyable and inspiring listening experience. The band creates a very warm sound with great interaction among the musicians, and each musician has space to show all the hard work and contemplation they have put in over the years. Moreover, the message contained in the liner notes of the CD shows that Otto sees beyond the world of jazz and has a true concern for society as a whole. This fact clearly comes out in his music, in it's thoughtfullness and care. I've gotten a lot out of it and there's sure to be more to be found!
