The perfect balance that will keep the hip hop crews b-boying and the jazz minded awestruck . Featuring Jeff Lorber , Mike Phillips and Patrice Rushen what more can you possibly ask.Only loses a star for not Featuring Q-Tips Breathe and stop which is well overdue.

I like this CD. It has a few hot tracks on it and a few not so hot tracks. This is not as good as Volume 1. Whose second album has ever matched their first? Still, I think you should buy it. If you like jazz and R&B and some hip hop, but can't sit still and listen to the dribble on the local radio stations, this is a very nice break from all that.

Great Jazz Music from the Continent!.......2003-10-17
It'll be worth your while to purchase this CD for the fact that it's just simply a great collection of music for the jazz enthusiasts! I had the distinct pleasure of listening to this CD recently while in route to CapeTown, South Africa and the music blew my mind because it's slightly different than what we're accustomed to hearing in the USA. Music is indeed universal for many of the African/Caribbean instruments one hears blend so well with the lyrics by the various talented artists. Trust me when I say that many of the tracks will leave you tapping your feet and bobbing your head all the while as you smile through the melodies. Careful!...you'll get hooked on Jimmy Dlulu's "Walk of Life" and most assuredly you'll enjoy the ever popular song "Bringing Joy" by popular S.A. artist, Allou April, South Africa's version of great jazz guitarist George Benson! The songs entitled "Neria", "Punch" and "CapeTown Love" also will transform your mind to feel as though you'll lying out on the sun-soaked beach in Aruba while you listen to the waves coming near the shore. Would you like to add something unique to your jazz collection? Then this Smooth Africa II CD is "IT" people - worth every cent!

The original rare groove, boogie fusion and 2-step soul sounds of the late 70's and early 80's return with a latin flavor and an emphasis on fusion. BE WARNED.......2005-05-05
BE WARNED this IS NOT Natural High , it is Natural High Vol 2. Vol 1 is listed elsewhere as "Natural High 2-step, boogie, fusion and rare groove". I made the mistake of ordering this incorrect listing and now have 2 copies of Vol 2 and an Amazon marketplace trader saying they've sent me the correct CD.
Despite that it's great, just not needed TWICE.....

This album is GREAT! My ultimate favorite is "Everything is Everything." Duawne and Tiffany...you guys are AWESOME! This song alone get's five stars!...
Harborwood are on to something here.......2002-11-28
I must credit Harborwood records, there's been a flow of some really good material from them. I first picked up both editions of "With This Ring", and they blew my mind. After picking up "Songs for the Soul" vol. 1 & 2, i was amazed.
On Vol. 2, you can't go past the gem that Tonex drops (Language O Tears) - it's excellent, vintage Tonex - one of the smoothest and most powerful ballads i've heard from him to date. Then there's Daryl Coley's take on Fred Hammond's "No Weapon". For just those two cuts, this album is worth your money. Fortunately, it doesn't even slow down there. Duawne Starling and Tiffany Palmer (featured prominently on other Harborwood albums) shine very very brightly on two cuts, and then there's the amazing Chris Willis (who's been quiet for far too long). Joes Pace delivers "Hold On", and Joey and Alvin from Take 6 remind us why Take 6 has been the most awesome vocal group for nearly two decades - "God will take care of you" is their awesome track.
Shortly - worth your money, any day!!

2nd Volume is even better than the 1st.......2001-08-20
WOW, I cannot believe yet again I'm the 1st to review the 2nd out of 3 Ultimate R&B Christmas albums! Why have these been overlooked-there's a treasure trove of hits by major artists on all 3 volumes. This collection starts with the always fun White Christmas by The Drifters as well as Jackie Wilson's gorgeous version of It Came Upon A Midnight Clear, along with a personal favorite of mine-That's All I Want For Christmas by Nancy Wilson. You'll also find classics like Mistletoe & Me by Isaac Hayes, I'll Be Your Santa Baby by Rufus Thomas & Silent Night by The Temptations, among others. This goes along great with Vol. 1, if you have that one, then you MUST get this to go along with it! Highly recommended.
