Esquivel has few peers in originality. His spectacular ideas and concepts come at you full speed in this compilation. Not only did Esquivel provide a road-map for all musicians and engineers into the world of stereo (in its infancy)- he imaged other sounds and textures into his arrangements providing the listener with a truly unique experience. This album showcases Esquivel's unique musical palette as well as some incredible studio talent! Listen to the ingenious "Time On My Hands" - even if you're not a musician...you have to love it!

This import from Spain rates #1 in sound quality. the Bar-None two-fer release sounds really nice, but there is more headroom in the import as well as the natural tapering of the sound at the end of each song, whereas Bar-None chops off the tapering so as to minimize the hiss from the 40 year old tapes, making the listening experience a little jarring at higher listening levels. Definitely go the extra mile and get the import, which also includes the complete original liner notes.
