First of all, let me say that I love the new Jazz. I have been listening to Jazz for almost 40 years. I am bored with acoutic and fusion, and I love this house, chill, acid, hip-hop or whatever you want to call it, jazz. I picked this up, because it had to do with the Blue Note in Manhattan, so it had to be good. I am not a jazz snob. Anyone that even remotely likes or understand or has respect for jazz will despise this. First of all, the beats are really old. This stuff has been done before by much better people. The songs are horrible, the first 3 songs are unlistenable. There is very little jazz, I repeat very litte jazz, on this disc. Even light jazz has more improvising than this. The idea of this is to play dance or chill and have horns in it. They are saying this constitues jazz, because there are horns, playing the theme over and over. The themes, by the way, are really bad also. The sax player has no idea how to play any jazz at all and his tone is really grating. He is emoting emotion, when there is nothing to emote. If there was even a little chance to like this, the sax player ruins that. I had to dump the tracks he was on, because the tone is so grating and shrill and the improvising so amateurish This is less improvisation than lite-jazz, with beats. The sax, trumptet, just all of this is cheesy. I don't know who this disc is for. I really mean, don't buy this. If they had kept the horns out, it would even have been better. The title of elctric jazz is really false advertising. How could the Blue Note have anything to do with this. If you want quality house jazz, buy anything that has anything to do with St. Germain. That is house jazz, this is old and embarrassing. I also really feel bad when jazz people try to be hip, and they get on the bandwagon 10 years to late. The beats are old and the production is light. Why don't the jazz people get really hip and listen to what's going on with the great new genres of music, and get really hip. This is like hip for oldsters, black socks, shorts, and all. Miles must be gnashing his teeth after listening to this. Don't buy this or have anything to do with this.,
