"Two Bass Hit" was recorded at his first Columbia session. I have this on LP and in my opinion, "Circle in the Round" is the finest work that I ever heard. I dig the record, I dig the side, but I don't dig why this is a hidden CD. You never hear about it! This should be in the top ten of Miles. If you don't have the CD, GET IT. If you can get the record, GET IT INSTEAD.
Guinnevere!.......2005-02-19
"Love For Sale" is one of my favorites and the rest of the CD is pretty good, if it is the style of jazz you like, but the only reason I own this CD is because of my favorite track anywhere, "Guinnevere". If you want to just relax and zone out, let Miles and Ravi Shankar take you on a trip for 18+ minutes. I have listened to this song hundreds of times and never tire of it. If you feel this song, check out Herbie Hancock's "Vein Melter".
Surreal..........2005-02-06
I don't remember what led me to buy this CD, but I'm glad I did. Fans of Miles Davis should most certainly have it. It has this surreal, amorphous feel to it, if one can describe music like that... as if Miles is searching, probing for something. For those introspective moments we have, perhaps late at night, the collection of tracks here are wonderfully apt. And it really grows on you.
All the tracks are very good, but the last track, "Guinnevere," in particular, is alone worth the price of this double-CD set. It is a pretty long track (18 minutes and change), but not long enough...

I really dig the soloing&vibe on this disc.especially on Two Base hit&Love for sale.hearing this disc reminds you of the grea talent that came thru Miles.simply this is fantastic.solid from start to finish.Miles Davis has many ALbums like this you can't say that about to many Artists.
Great previously unreleased stuff.......2000-01-25
I find two tracks on this double CD, Love for Sale and Blues no 2, simply wonderful. The rest I can live without, but not these two tracks. Miles Davis mostly did not make good use of Bill Evans' great ability to swing. But on Love for Sale he let the whole band swing freely. It is a marvellous track! On Blues no 2 we hear the greatest drummer of all times, Philly Joe Jones, propelling Miles into some furnace hot soloing, which reminds us what a loss Miles did when Philly Joe left the band. The sound quality is fine too.

I will never tire of this CD. I play it everytime I throw a party and constantly have people asking what it is because they love it. The song called Ain't No Fun is the absolute best!
