This CD by Scott Martin throws a lot of flavors into one skillet. Scott grew up in a musical family (in fact, most of them play on this CD) and was influenced by all the music played in the house. His father plays trumpet and was into big bands and Louie Armstrong. His mother played string bass and was into classical and Aretha. His brothers were into bebop, funk, and everything in-between. Then he and his brothers got the gig with Poncho Sanchez Latin Jazz Band and Scott was there for over 12 years, playing all over the world and getting exposed to all kinds of latin music. Tito, Machito, Chombo Silva, Mongo not to mention cumbia, meringue, salsa.....

Throw this all into a cooking pot and you have "Menudo & Gritz" Scott Martin's latest CD. 'An Intoxicating Blend of Latin and Soul'.

    If you like Menudo and Ricky Martin, give Tom Griesgraber a listen. Both feature brilliant musicians at the top of their game. I'm going to go shake my bon bon to a little Griesgraber now, since all my Menudo recordings got stolen by my friend Armando.

    I had a yearning to listen to the music of my obsession way back when. I was a die-hard fan with my own fan club and this sure brings back memories. It sounds as good as ever. Now if only I knew what I did with all my Menudo stuff???

    This Cd is really cool. I can't help but listen to it when I am in my car. It sort of puts you in a good mood when you're mad. While listening to it, you can't help but start singing the songs even if you may not always understand what they are saying. LOL. I originally bought it at a CD store and I can honestly say that the price that Amazon is charging is much cheaper and a good deal. As stated before it is worth it!

    I took a chance and purchased this and WOW..I was so excited to hear these guys sing again! I absolutely LOVED this CD and so happy to have found a good listing of their greatest songs! This band takes me way back to my teenage years watching every Sunday night on Channel 47. Going to see them in Radio City Music Hall NYC! My all time favorite was Charlie and Ricky Martin! If you loved them in the 80's you will LOVE this CD!

    i love every single song on this cd. i used to watch el show de menudo on ch 47 in n.y. i did not have a vcr so i had to record the songs from tv by placing my tape recorder next to the tv and doing the best i could. this cd is great if u love old school menudo. it is also great because they include a couple of the popular songs in english menudo put out. i only wish they would have included "if you're not here" by ricky. its a great song. they did include the spanish version though. i think the best song on the cd is "la fiesta va a empezar" by robi. he had the best voice. to sum things up GET THIS CD it is really great. u will be able to remember (at least for a few hours) when charlie,johnny,ricky,miguel and ray ruled.

    Menudo is certainly one of the best latin groups of all time (along with Timbiriche and Flans)! A lot of great songs here on this CD and you certainly get to hear the early days of Ricky Martin! This CD is a must-have for every Menudo fan! You will not be dissapointed!

    Listening to this album is having flashbacks of my childhood. Every song remainds me of all the times Menudo was in the backgrownd when I was playing with my frinds. I remember dreaming that Ricky Melendes was our boyfriend and that we had a girls group like menudo and we sang with them in their concerts. This CD is a MUST for anyone who was young in the 80's and want's to keep this part of their lives with them forever. In a few words No matter what MENUDO IS still #1! and will be forever

    I must say that this is Menudo's best album and it's hard to choose a favorite track. This a very well laid out collection of songs and it showcases each of their individual talents. One of my favorite track or I should say my favorite tracks have to be Claridad, Quiero ser and of course Enamorado del Amor, this last one having a very melancolic sound to it. I highly recommend this album to any Menudo enthusiast or anyone with an appreciation for good music.

    I love this one! As a kid, I had collected nearly all the albums that Menudo released. Somehow, "Quiero Ser" alluded me. I wanted it but never had the opportunity to get it. However, when most of the older stuff was rereleased a few years ago, I wasn't going to let this one get past me a second time, so I bought it immediately. After listening to it the first time, I really regretted never buying it 15 years ago. The music that I missed out on. To sum all this up, I love the album. Miguel and Johnny both sing their adorable little butts off. A must for any past or present Menudo fan (even for those who only know Menudo because of Ricky Martin). Enjoy!

    Classic Menudo. Just a couple of albums before the made their debut in America, there was Quiero Ser, a collection of some serious ballads that are not just for kids. Check out "Bailemos En El Mar", you'll believe you're seated in a beach chair by blue waters with a Margarita in your hand!!!!

    If you ever wanted to hear Ricky Martin when he first got started...here is where you should be. In addition to Robby, Ray, Sergio & Charlie. Wonder where they are? Me too. This recording from 1986, yes....this album does have the sound of the 80's. The album is full of fun loving dance music when times seemed a bit more simple. SUMMER IN THE STREETS and WE HAVE A SONG definately tell you what summer is all about. Even though the album doesn't have the hi-tech sound of the today, but it is a nice trip down memory lane.

    To say this "group" helped define the music in the 80's is true. THey helped define mediocrity, industry-orientated music. For Christ's sake, fellows, we're not talking about QUEEN, IRON MAIDEN, MICHAEL JACKSON, PHIL COLLINS, POLICE or dozens of other really importants bands! We're talking about a bunch of kids who couldn't even sing properly live!

    Of course Menudo helped define the 80's. This CD is fantastic! A great mix of good voices, upbeat songs, and beautiful, mood-setting ballads. I now have 3 of the English language Menudo CD's...this one helps complete a good Menudo collection. Well worth the price! "Can't Get Enough" speaks for itself. Every song on this CD is a crowd-pleaser!

    Out of their 5 english albums this one is one of the best. "Summer in the streets" is a very catchy song as well as "tell me how you feel". The slow songs are very good as well

      Although the original quintet is next to unbeatable, I must add that these five guys and this album has always been one of my favorites. Most of my friends fell out of favor with Menudo years before Charlie Rivera Masso, Robby Rosa, Ricky Martin, Ray Acevedo and Sergio Gonzalez came on the scene with Refrescante but I always loved them and still do today. It's "refrescante" to listen to their sounds when I want a change of pace.

      This is my favorite "Greatest Hits"collection by Menudo because it features some of the group's earliest songs. Many of these songs are only available on this CD, such as "Cosita Loco Llamada Amor", "Libre Mi Corazon", & "Soy Natural". Most of the songs are quite peppy and this CD will keep you bouncing along. You can definitely hear the late 70s/early 80s disco influence. Personally I could have done without "Dos Ninos" (the kids sound way too depressed) and "Los Fantasmas" (I just never liked that song) but thanks to CD technology you can either listen or zap past them. Another plus to this 14 song set are the Spanish language covers of songs by Abba, Queen and the Village People. A good intro to the early history of this group.

      I have this album (from way back when) and if any Ricky Martin music fans care, he sings "Rayo de Luna" on this album (#9). These songs bring back so many memories! It's fun to hear Ricky before his voice changed!

      I can't believe its been this long.. ON CD TOO! Now I won't have to worry about scratches on the original LP. No matter how old you are.. you still hold a special place in the heart for these guys.. When I'm 50 and I'll still love this music. Nothing like reliving a beautiful time in my life.. I still feel the feeling of the crush for my favorite member!
