Editorial Reviews
Jewish Week
"A brilliant piano-bass duo reading of tunes from the Jewish and African-American sacred traditions and easily the best record I've reviewed this year. Warm, intelligent and swinging..."

Product Description
The music on this album consists of a series of bass and piano duets of jazz interpretations of sacred music from the African-American and Jewish traditions. The title comes from a Passover song based upon the ancient Hebrew saying that means,"once we were slaves." This is, of course, appropriate since both the Jewish and African-American peoples were forged from slavery.
