Beginning as a documentation of descent into hopelessness within the walls of a haunted house, \\\"Oh, Didn\\\'t He Ramble\\\" is the forthcoming debut release from The Old Scratch Revival Singers. The project was begun to explore the ideas and moods of the ex-Heart Attacks (now All Rattle and Dust {Eyeball Records}). Since the inception, new ideas and additional members have flourished into a lively seven piece entity featuring the guitar, banjo/trumpet, accordion/organ, violin/viola, clarinet, bass viol, and percussion accompanied by the voices of every member of the band. The music of the Old Scratch Revival Singers is not far from its Iowa roots, containing elements of cow-punk, bluegrass, ragtime, and gospel with a propensity for darkness, superstition, and old time religion. The Old Scratch Revival Singers provides themes of damnation in this world, and of salvation in the next.

This is an outstanding and unique album. If you are interested in broadening your horizons, I highly recommend it. Recently I was able to see Old Scratch live. It was an amazing experience- it's obvious that the members all love the music and performing, which gave the show an engaging and energetic atmosphere.
