    It is with no small amount of pride that Inside Out Music has the unique opportunity to announce its very first signing from a former communist country: Poland's Riverside. Behind the Iron Curtain, over the past years, and especially in Poland, progressive music has very quietly (but surely) been growing in popularity and establishing itself as a real scene. As a result, some very interesting and promising bands have begun to see the proverbial light-of-day. Enter Riverside, with their hyper-creative compositional and instrumental skills, they create very intense compact soundscapes that could remind one of Pink Floyd from the days-of-old. Their debut CD received rave reviews from the progressive rock community with many calling it "the album of the year." We expect no less from Second Life Syndrome.

        More comedy monologue than musical performance, Bea Arthur's one-woman show Bea Arthur on Broadway: Just Between Friends collects memories from the silver-haired star's life on Broadway (Fiddler on the Roof, Mame, The Threepenny Opera) and television (Maude, The Golden Girls).

        "I wanted to see if I had the guts to just come and be myself," Arthur says in this performance recorded in front of a live audience in December 2001. Alongside co-creator and pianist Billy Goldenberg, she offers wry and often funny anecdotes about her career and the people she's worked with (Angela Lansbury, Pia Zadora). When she does sing ... well, even decades ago Arthur didn't have a beautiful voice, but she's well-suited to the comedy songs. And her versions of Kurt Weill's "Pirate Jenny" and Goldenberg's own "Fifty Percent"--while they won't make anyone forget Lotte Lenya or Dorothy Loudon--are effective in their own right. Bea Arthur on Broadway is definitely more Bea than Broadway, but it's a career well worth remembering. --David Horiuchi

                So I am ridgid in my acceptance crietria, but at my early forties i am not going to accet styles I found unpleasant when I was younger.

                A friend of mine who is very knowledgable on jazz told me about this group, so when i found it at less that 4 USD in a used cd store, i gave it a shot. The musisians are maestros, the funk is bearable, the arrangements impeccable. its a nice surprise

                This Brit-Funk Movement brings nothing but raw energy to this amazing 1992 project. Although this album is'nt as good as their later recordings but its definitely worthwhile for the ears. Armed with gritty urban rhythms and painstaking arrangements this album sets the standard in urban-chill grooves. Incognito is a must have for those who dig REAL music. Be good to yourself yourself, check out their other albums such as Tribes, Vibes & Scribes, Positivity, No Time Like The Future etc. Go Get It!!

                Bluey Maunick's Incognito is one of the best bands few have heard. Inspirational dance beats with a vibrant que for catchy beats and original production. Incognito released 2 CD's 1992: "Inside Life" and "Tribes, Vibes, and Scribes." Inside Life is the more instrumental of the two. There are only a few vocal tracks on this CD. Yet those are very delicious! It seems the music on Inside Life was meant for a main CD but had to be culled into 2 halves. "Once Step To a Miracle" is the first track that will catch your attention. Catchy, powerful, and an incredibly smooth mix of drums, bass, horns, and synths. "Love is the Colour" is another standout. Crisp, easy, and very deep. My favorite is "Soho." Linda Muriel's sweet and sexy voice coupled with Bluey Maunick's vocal synth's blend well in this funky track.

                Overall, I love this CD. It may not be a staple of many collections. I can assure you it will be one hard to avoid listening when it is!
