This is a fine collection of Blue Note jazz - acoustic jazz from the hard bop, soul jazz vein. Fans of this stuff will love it, as will fans of soul jazz who may not be inclined to listen to bop or more modern jazz stylings. This is jazz that gets a groove on without at all being "smooth" jazz. It is real jazz, yet it is groovy.
