Pieces of 8 makes you glad to be alive. Rich melodies and harmonies, intricate rhythms and phrasing, unexpected combinations of voice and music leap out and capture the listener, drawing one close to grasp the and meaning. The Pieces weave a subtly colorful tapestry of words and sound, ranging from the sublime to laugh-out-loud funny. Textures rise and fall, move in and out, producing a kaleidoscope of changes. All the Pieces' CDs stand up to repeated playing to discover the jewels that are hidden within.
"Across the Blue Meridian", their just-released CD, follows the Pieces' tradition of expect the unexpected. Their two previous releases, "Hook, Line & Sinker" and "Falling Together," are examples of the diverse songs and arrangements you'll hear, from the traditional to the Beatles. "Across" continues the tradition with new releases and variations on previous tracks. All three CDs are highly recommended! If you live in the NYC area, see the Pieces in person-they are fabulous.
