Terrific Schema Compilation.......2004-03-06
This is a terrific release. It starts out with Thievery Corporation's (featuring Bebel on vocals) So Com Voce followed up with one of my favorite Helena Noguerra tracks. Then comes an Audio Lotion song titled "O Deserto", with the lead singers lazy voice putting you in the perfect mood for a drink late at night. Not to go into every song, but as you can already tell from the first three artists, this is quality! Also featured here was: Mo Horizons, Superpulse, Michal, Arkestra One and many many more.
I have to recommend this one - especially if you're a fan of Break & Bossa. This one is extremely chill and easy-going. They do add their bit of cheesy tracks like "Short Trip to Brazil". And admittedly, I didn't care much for the Superpulse and Michal songs - they were both on Brazil 5000 and I didn't care much for that compilation. But the quality as a whole is terrific as some of the nu-jazz in here is pretty cool and it's a pretty diverse album. If you dig this, be sure to check out Schema's Break & Bossa series (especially the 5th and 6th edition), Gerardo Frisina's new cd titled "Hi Note", and be on the lookout for a compilation titled "Freedom Jazz Dance" later this spring.
