About the Artist
Scott Moulton is an unusually gifted composer and performer. He was born in Massachusetts and raised in the natural beauty of New England's ever-changing seasons. His extended travels and diverse places of residence, including Colorado, New Mexico, Hawaii, and Idaho, have been sources of inspiration for his compositions which express his deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and the spirit of the land.

Scott acquired a guitar in junior high school and soon formed a band which was heavily influenced by groups like The Byrds and The Beatles. By the time he was a high school senior, however, he'd been deeply influenced by acoustic musicians and decided to sell his rock `n roll records, quit the band, and become a folkie. Musical influences included Ian & Sylvia, Gordon Lightfoot, James Taylor, Tom Rush, and Simon & Garfunkel.

In the early `70s, while attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, Scott's interests expanded dramatically to include classical music, jazz, and bluegrass. He learned to play the 5-string banjo, mandolin, and dobro while performing in various acoustic ensembles. In 1975 he joined the country rock band Deputy Dog and spent the next several years touring the western mountain states. After moving to Hawaii in the `80s, Scott established himself as a solo performer, and appeared in concert with Graham Nash, Jesse Colin Young, Richie Havens, Taj Mahal, and the Kingston Trio. The intention of this collection of pieces is to frame a kind of soothing, musical landscape of Hawaii. In addition to the instruments, there are sounds of waterfalls, birdsongs, and ocean surf that were recorded on Kauai. There are times when a bit of tropical paradise would be a healthy escape, and hopefully at such times this recording may be of some small service.

Although it is not the best work of Ruben Blades, many of the subjects in the album, deserve to be listened to, with the heart opened to the emotion and specially to the melancholy. The subject "Todos vuelven", deserves special attention. You will enjoy Ruben Blades, with an important orquestación and musical adjustments that they imitate "to the district" music and feeling.

I first listened to Scott Moulton's "Tropical Dreams" nearly 10 years ago and have listened to it dozens of times since then. I find that its power to return me to those tranquil, mystical landscapes painted by Mr. Moulton's masterful guitar, remains undiminished.

We had the great pleasure of meeting Scott and listening to him nightly when he was playing in Kauai. Always had the cassettes and were very happy to be able to pick up all of his CDs. He uses different guitars and styles, such as slack key. Nice to hear you again, Scott!

    This CD offers some of Jeanette Macdonald and Nelson Eddy's most beloved songs from their movies. Their natural chemistry is apparent in songs like "Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life" and their individual talents are shown in the solos that they sing. These two legendary performers draw the audience into their songs and each is a special memory of the movie that it came from. Macdonald and Eddy were made to sing together. It is surprising that they were not sweethearts off screen after hearing their voices and seeing their movies. Their passion and tenderness towards each other is something out of a fairy tale. This CD has all the fun, romance, and innocence that was epitomized in their movies. It is a true treasure and a favorite in my music library.

      I picked this album up thinking that it would go well with my collection of other latin music. This album is terrible. It is like they got the worst version of every song and put in on a disc. Songs like Amor are off-key, and they don't have the bounce and flow that is common for most latin music. Don't waste your money on this album.
