FULL CIRCLE THE ORIGNIAL LITTLE RIVER BAND AT IT'S BEST.......2007-05-06

I RECIEVED THE CD THE OTHER DAY AND STARTED PLAYING IT AND FELL IN LOVE WITH THE MUSIC ALL OVER AGAIN. THE MUSIC IS VINTAGE LITTLE RIVER BAND DESPITE THE FACT THAT SOME OF THESE SONGS WERE DONE CLOSE TO 30 YEARS AGO. THE MUSIC AND VOICES HAVE AGED GRACEFULLY THIS CD IS A MUST FOR THOSES WHO LOVED GLENN SHORROCK VOICE AND THE MUSIC OF BEEP BIRTLES & GRAHAM GOBLE. I HOPE TO GET THE DVD WHEN IT BECOMES AVAILABLE TO WATCH AND LISTEN TO THE TIMELESS CLASSIC SUCH AS HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, REMINISCING, LADY, MAN ON YOUR MIND, TAKE IT EASY ON ME,THE NIGHT OWLS,HELP IS ON ITS WAY, COOL CHANGE, LONESOME LOSER ALL THE GREAT HITS FROM THE 3 FOUNDING MEMBERS OF LITTLE RIVER BAND. BSG - DVD & CD Review (Full Circle).......2006-05-23

Better late than never for me! I wandered over to Beeb Birtles' website in early November of 2005 to "catch up" since I hadn't been on his website in several years. The impetus to do so also came from the fact that Beeb's and my birthday was coming up later that month (we share the same birthdate). Boy, was I in for the most pleasant shock on the planet for this long, long, long-time classic LRB fan! It took 7 more months before I finally received BSG's (for Birtles, Shorrock, Goble) DVD & CD (hard to get on Amazon.com). I finally received them - ironically enough - on May 15th, Graham Goble's 59th birthday. I was NOT disappointed at all. I've about played my DVD into the ground!!

I've seen some reviews on the Full Circle CD, but don't sell yourselves short: The 30-track DVD is simply AWESOME! The "new blood" that the younger musicians in BSG's backing band brings infuses new dynamics of the classic hits while still staying true to the original arrangements. It kind of updates the songs into the 21st century, if you will (one example is "Reminiscing"). I absolutely LOVE the new songs - especially "Deep Water" and "Heart and Soul"!!

I keep looking for updates on the three REAL co-founding LRB-ers, but no new news is found as of June of 2005. I'm still looking, though. I'm very disappointed in the former band mates of BSG that are still calling themselves Little River Band or LRB. They basically are making a career out of promoting BSG's songs and sound as their own (long story to those unfamiliar with this subject). They will never be supported by me. After all, we the fans are the ultimate judges. I hope BSG one day reads this. The fans of the co-founding, classic lineup of what originally was Little River Band are behind BSG all the way! Come to the U.S. soon (specifically the Atlanta area where I live)!!! PLEASE!! Bring those talented musicians who played with you on the DVD in 2003 with you!!

One for the genuine fans going back into the 70's. Forget the cover bands. U either get it or you don't. Great to see them back. These are the guys described by Glenn Frey as the best singing group in the world (he exaggerates...but who cares)!

Birtles,Shorrock and Goble,the real LRB.......2004-07-17

It is so nice to hear the real little River Band in Birtles,Goble and Shorrock. They may have had their band name taken by the imposters,but they are still the original and real voices of little River Band. These three performers between them had a hand in writing all 13 of Little River Band's US top forty Billboard singles. The imposters wrote none.
This album also has some new songs,such as "in the city",a Beeb Birtles composition. I trust that the imposters currently touring America will study the new songs so that they can copy them!
The DVD of this concert is also available and has gone gold in Australia.
I do agree that Glen needs to save his jokes for in between a song though,but apart from that the album is great.
I hope that they record a new album soon.

Polished to the point of boring........2004-07-12

With the exception of "The Other Guy," the songs on this CD are virtually indistinguishable from the studio versions. Except for the polite applause in between tracks, one would never know that this is a live CD. There is no vocal banter between the band and the audience, and there is no new material.

As such, if you already have the studio versions of these songs, there is no reason to own this CD.

This release is only for those like me who own every Little River Band CD and want to keep their collections complete. Casual fans would be better advised to buy either Little River Band's Greatest Hits or 20th Anniversary collections. These two releases already have all of the well-known classics found on the Birtles Shorrock Goble CD. However, you would also be getting all of the best songs from lead singer John Farnham, a superior vocalist who left Little River Band to become the best-selling solo performer of all time in Australia.

Lord of mine, this 2cd release was one of the worst that I ever heard, it's terrible. No more respect with Icehouse's fans, this should never be released. If I could give no stars, I would. I lost my money, save yours.

yup a hit and miss remix compilation. Not the place to start for New icehouse listeners! just old songs recorded differently, some good, some not so good.highlight is "shakin the cage"

This is Icehouse gone techno. It's catchy, it's danceable, it's a must for any Icehouse fan. This 2-CD set includes a new slant on some of our old favorites like Man Of Colours (Colours), Electric Blue (Blue Noise), Mercy On The Boy (Mercy) and Great Southern Land (Great Southern Mix), plus a few new infectiously delightful songs.
