The title of Alphonse Mouzon's newest album, Absolute Greatest Love Songs & Ballads (1981-1998) (Tenacious Records), pretty much says it all. For the project, the drummer culled 10 appropriate songs from his past recordings, then added five remixes and two new songs. Mouzon, who came up in the late '60s, was one of the original members of Weather Report. He's also played with Roy Ayers, McCoy Tyner, Albert Mangelsdorff, and Larry Coryell's Eleventh House. The guest list on Greatest Love Songs is similarly impressive. It's a virtual Who's Who of contemporary jazz, including Herbie Hancock, Lee Ritenour, Russ Freeman, George Howard, Kirk Whalum, and Ernie Watts, among many others.

I have not got this Cd but I have the songs at home on other Cds, but I know that that is one of the best or the best smooth Cds in the world.If you hear that songs you are really a smooth person at this moment. If you want to have smooth songs that's the best Cd you can get!

The "ABSOLUTE GREATEST LOVE SONGS & BALLADS" CD in one of my best CDs ever released. I composed, arranged and produced all of the songs on this smooth jazz CD. I'm playing drums, percussion, various keyboards & synthesizers. Herbie Hancock is playing acoustic piano; Lee Ritenour, Russ Freeman and Paul Jackson, Jr. are playing guitar; the late & great George Howard, along with Gerald Albright, Richard Elliot, Ernie Watts, Eric Marienthal, Nelson Rangell, Paul Taylor, Kirk Whalum, Everette Harp, Brandon Fields and Gary Meek are playing saxophone; Welton Gite and Tony Dumas are playing bass; Sal Marquez is on trumpet; Phillip Ingram is on lead vocals, along with other great artists! All of the songs are gems. This CD is perfect for people who are in love or who want to be in love. The "ABSOLUTE GREATEST LOVE SONGS & BALLADS" CD will surely bring inspiration and love back into your heart.
