Coachella.......2001-04-30

I got this free(promotional) at coachella .. and i was wonderfully suprised that this was so good .. its alittle too trance to be a 5 .. since its kinda cliche at times .. but its actually rather intelligent like juno reactor ..

A Great CD!.......2000-05-23

I heard this CD playing in a store and had to have a copy of it when I left. The music is very primal and yet it has a very modern twist. I would buy anything else they had without even hearing a track.

Talking To Furniture is unique, yet accessible to a very wide audience. Joshua's market is primarily Adult Contemporary/Pop, however, many of his songs (including "Cell Phone" and "Livin In The City") will cross to the jazz market as well; ballads like "Amor Impossive" and "Eye Of The Hurricane" will find a home in the soft-rock genre, and "Agitated" will play well to rock and alternative fans.

It's about time! Finally an incredibly talented singer/songwriter who appeals to the 30+ market! "Talking to Furniture" (the title track) is upbeat and fun, and even my kids loved it. Beautiful, meaningful ballads like "Always" and "Amor Impossive" show Joshua's ability to write meaningful lyrics we can relate to. I like each and every song on this CD -- and they are all originals written by Joshua Rich. This CD is completely appropriate for the entire family -- and children as well as adults like the music!

I was able to catch Joshua Rich live in concert, and he plays piano like no one I've ever seen! People in the audience watched in awe as he played with high energy and enthusiasm. The crowd went wild! The CD is addictive and his live performances are not to be missed! I HIGHLY recommend Joshua Rich and "Talking to Furniture" to anyone who appreciates high quality music!

Are we finally moving forward and getting away from thrown together 'boy bands' and ditzy teenyboppers who couldn't write their own music if their lives depended on it? Make room Elton and Billy here is JOSHUA RICH! Unique style and beautiful, fun lyrics. Here is music for those of us who appreciate the ART of creating and performing good, intelligent songs!

What a pleasant surprise! This incredible CD is among my very favorites. Backed by a very solid bass/keys and drums combo, Diane Delin's violin absolutely sings with expression. Absolutely my favorite jazz violinist. Her lyrical originals are destined to become jazz classics. I especially enjoy "Estella" with its creatively orchestrated string section, and the beautiful melodic lines of "For an Afternoon". Her version of Raghupati is entrancing, and the only vocal cut on the album is a bluesy blast. You'll be glad that you added this one to your collection!

Album Description

Jazz violinist Diane Delin's 2001 release, Talking Stick, on the Blujazz label, is a collection of Delin's compositions and jazz standards. The cd features the same rhythm section as her last Gavin charted "Origins," with Dennis Luxion on piano (formerly with Chet Baker), Michael Arnopol on bass (who also tours with Patricia Barber) and Tom Hipskind on drums (who has toured with Patricia Barber, Brian Culbertson, etc.). In addition to quartet tracks, the cd also features the quartet with strings (arranged by Delin) on three of the tracks, two violin and piano duets, and guest vocalist Greg Pasenko on one track. "Diane Delin knows how to dig in and swing from the heels." Neil Tesser, Author, Playboy Guide to Jazz, says in the liner notes.
